Elliott joined rescue today when his owner surrendered him to a local shelter. The shelter stay felt it would be best for Elliot if Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue found him a new forever home. He will be joining his foster home today, so stay tuned for more details on this handsome guy.
11/22/2015 Update: What a journey it has been with this handsome fella! When Elliott first came to us, we deemed him as dog aggressive because he would bark and growl at other dogs when in his crate. What we did not know at that time was that Elliott was just extremely under-socialized with not only people, but with other animals! We saw his curiosity towards other animals and decided to let him have a chance to spend time with our pack leader and peace keeper-the Pretty Princess Shar Pei Chanel. She took him under her wing and taught him how to play without being too rough. He spent about 3 days with her before he met with the rest of the pack and we have not had one issue with aggression from him. We definitely think he would do best with a dominant dog in the house with him to keep teaching him proper manners as he takes corrections from other dogs extremely well. Elliott is perfectly housetrained and crate trained and walks great on a leash. He has learned to sit, knows the word down (aka-get off the furniture), and has started growing into more of a dog now than a puppy. At a year and a half old, Elliott is still trying to work on the proper greeting when meeting new people as his old greeting was run and try to jump on their chest. He still reverts back to old habits sometimes but is trying really hard to be more of a gentleman. Because of this, he would probably be best in a home with no young children as he may get excited and knock them down. Elliott loves to cuddle and suck on your hand to fall asleep. His favorite cuddle spot is right next to you with his head on your shoulder. Elliott will need a home that will continue teaching him to be the best dog he can be, and in return, he will give that home every ounce of affection he has to offer. Paws crossed that he finds his forever home for Christmas!
