Guess what? Cupid shot his arrow and found true love: my FURever family! ❤️ That’s right, guys. I’m never going to go a day without love again and as you can tell by my smile, that makes me one happy boy! Oh and you’re not going to believe this. Not only do I have Justin, my skin brother, but I also have Piggie Smalls and Toby. Piggie Smalls 🐷 has 4 legs and a flat nose like me, but he’s pink. Toby 🦜 has 2 legs, a pointy nose and likes to whistle at the ladies. I have the best bros ever!
Well, guys, I need to go turn on my charm. My FURever Dad gives me extra treats and FURever Mom gives the best booty scratches. Sometimes, I get so excited, she calls me Sir Humps-A-Lot, but don’t worry ~ they’re helping me work on this. Honestly, I can’t help it. I’m just so in love with my FURever family!
We know that not all adoptions work out the way we planned. It is offen or a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is just not a good match in spite of how hard we try to make it so. We are saddened that Beckham has been returned to us. But we know it was in his best interest and we will work hard to find him that perfect forever home.
Please welcome Beckham to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue! He writes: Talk about some bad luck.. I have had my share! I’ve had four families in my life and guess what? Every one of them said they would love me forever and I was just what they wanted! “Forever” never really lasted that long for me.
When I was a puppy, everything I did was cute and funny. Everyone said “Beckham, with those stand up ears, I bet you can fly!” I heard it all the time. “Fly, Beckham. I bet you can!” Well, as fate would have it, I learned to fly. And flying is not what my people wanted after all! I have flown from the sofa to the kitchen table and have eaten many meals that were not for me. I have flown across the room and taken a sandwich right out of a person’s hand. I can glide through the air and take any snack from a child and enjoy it for myself. I can fly up on the counter tops and help myself to fruits, chips and bread. I am not picky at all. Once I learned to fly, the world was mine. But now I know: if only my first family would have glued my ears downs I would not be in this predicament. Cute, funny and flying has caused me to be passed around from family to family.
People were encouraging my bad behavior, and I just wish they had loved me enough to teach me some manners. I wish that someone would have stopped me, made me sit down, and taught me that people like Bulldogs on the ground, not flying through the air. So, here’s to hoping you CAN teach a Bulldog some new tricks because this being passed around thing is for the birds! My name is Beckham. I don’t know how old I am, but I’m hoping the vet can give me a ballpark. My ears stand straight up like radars, and I seriously know how to fly!
1/29/18 Update: Hey, ladies! I am out of the vet clinic and looking for love for Valentine’s Day! I describe myself as high energy, but I love a long nap. I need some help in the manners department, but I am so eager to please, and I love all other dogs, no matter the size. My perfect family will be active, take walks, teach me to calm down, and probably have older kids that I can’t knock over. I would say that I am a work in progress, but I am definitely worth the time. I will learn how to be a great addition to any family!
2/5/18 Update: Hello to all the beautiful people! Please allow me to introduce myself: my name is Beckham. I am sure most of you have heard the stories about my ears and how they would literally make me fly, but please know, that is all in the past… the flying part that is, not the ears. Ya see, for the past two years, I needed someone who would care enough to teach me manners. Someone patient who, well, let’s face it, would not take their eyes off of me for one second because you never knew what the old Beckham would be doing. Someone caring, who believed in consistency and someone who had a ton (and I mean a ton) of yummy treats!
Let me tell you: I hit the Bulldog jackpot. Foster Ma and Pops have showed me so much love with Manners 101.
I am a changed boy! I am proud to say I am 100% crate and potty trained. I know many commands such as place, sit, lay down and high five. Disclaimer: A yummy treat must be present if you want me to show you more than one. When I say I love my walks, I MEAN I LOVE MY WALKS. We don’t have to go far at all, but it makes me so happy to go. Foster Pops has been secretly talking to me about what to get Foster Ma for Valentine’s Day and I keeping telling him … LOVE, just give her LOVE!
Ya see, ever since I learned what love is, that is all I want! It’s the best feeling ever! Soooo, if you’re looking for love and you think we could be a match, I have a couple of requests:
1. Must enjoy walks
2. Must enjoy treats
3. Must teach “continuing education” in Manners
4. Must enjoy treats
5. Must love cuddles
6. Must enjoy treats
7. Must love LOVE!
I guess that’s all for today. Until next time… all my LOVE!
2/9/18 Update: I hope everyone is staying warm! I’m pretty busy with my bone, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. I sure do enjoy play time with my foster brothers. Sometimes, we wrestle on the sofa, but it doesn’t take long for us to hear, “Boys!” We know Foster Ma doesn’t like that idea at all. Ooooooops Foster Ma says I am such a show off because I show her non-stop how I am a little gentleman. (But just between me and you, I really am a show off 😉 What can I say? The treats are yummy!) I even help her decide what to cook for supper. The minute she opens the freezer, there I am! She can’t resist this face 😉 Well, I guess that’s all for now. Until next time!
