Bump

ON TEMPORARY MEDICAL HOLD!

I’m sure glad to be in rescue. I have spent the first 11 months of my life living in the backyard! Who knew an air-conditioned house could be so nice? I had more than a few fleas when I was surrendered. I am also positive for heartworms because I have never been on preventive.

But now I am in rescue. I am at the vet for a complete checkup. They think I may need some surgery on my eyes and maybe my tail. I will need treatment for those nasty worms. My fur is already beginning to look better—not so dry and flaky.

Oh, and because I have always lived outside, I am not sure what all this talk is about me needing potty training. I can tell you I love everyone I have ever met, and I love every dog I have met so far.

So if you have an air conditioner and will let me stay inside your home with you, I would love to come live with you. Better get that application started and see if you are a good match for me.

7/10/19 Update:  It’s me….BUMP! I know what y’all are thinking…. how did I get a crazy name like Bump? Does he have a Bump on his head or something? Well, the answer is no, I don’t have a bump on my head, but I should!

You see, my problem is that I am bumping into everything! Walls, doors, furniture and especially PEOPLE! I have almost taken out Foster Ma a few times when I “bumped” into her at full speed.

My problem is that I have one speed and it is just GO FAST. That is what gets me in trouble, as I am not the most graceful Bulldog and I don’t have any brakes. I am a full-grown puppy that needs to learn a few manners. I can’t help it! I just get so excited and overjoyed about everything! I am the happiest boy ever. Therefore, I need an active family that is going to play with me A LOT, take me on long walks and has the time and energy to take on a handful like me.

My Foster Ma doesn’t know if I have selective hearing, or if it is just the fact that I go so fast, I can’t hear her. I have a lot to learn about manners, but I need someone who is firm, but very gentle. I get my feelings hurt very easily and just get so upset when someone yells at me. Foster Ma suspects that someone may have hit me a few times, as I sometimes shy away from her hand.

In addition, I am a very clever and mischievous guy. Foster Ma has nicknamed me Houdini. My first great escape was after my eye surgery. I had that stupid lampshade off my head in no time! So Foster Ma put the donut on me. I didn’t mind that so much as it made a pawsome pillow! My crate door now has an extra lock on it. I got out of my crate twice before and Foster Ma thought she had not latched the crate door properly. This past weekend, I got out for the third time and she KNEW she had secured the crate door!

I watch EVERYTHING my Foster Ma does and I attempt to emulate her abilities with my superior dog skills. She has the video proof!

I had been on medical hold, as I had to have eyelifts on both my eyes. When I came into rescue, I also had a nasty tail infection. I had an extremely tight tail pocket that was just hard to keep clean and dry, so I had to have another surgery to fix my tail.

If you are an active family with some bigger kids that would like to play with me and would be willing to take me on long family walks together, I would love to meet you and talk to you about taking me home!
