The best of things come in twos. These two foster dogs found, not only the perfect family, but each other.
After losing Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue alumna Daisy and their sweet Sassy, this family knew they needed to fill their home with two Bulldogs.
Duchess of York and Chaplin were excited to meet and play. They’ll be the cutest couple on the block and will definitely keep Lauren and Brian on their toes with all their silliness.
All my friends call me Duchy, so you can call me that too. I bet you think I have had a hard life, from the looks of my photo. Far from it. I’ve had a really good one. All except for one thing ~ my motherhood experience.
Last year, I had a litter. Well, it was actually one boy and he grew up and moved away. I was ready for him to move on when he got those teeth, though! Then, this past Sunday, I had a litter of five, but they came early and didn’t make it.
I took that as a sign that I was not supposed to be a Bulldog mom, so I packed my backpack and here I am. My mom hugged my neck real tight, told me that she loved me and that it was time for me to find a couch to call my own. So, that’s exactly what I am doing.
I went to sit with Dr. Larsen and she said I felt a little warm. My temperature was high, so she gave me a shot and some antibiotics. I then got something special for pain, and believe me, I am feeling no pain.
I want everyone to know that I am a really good girl. I have been around kids, cats and ducks on the farm. I ride great in the car and I enjoy the company of other dogs. After I get over this little set back, I will be looking for a family that is looking for me. I am 4 years old and my proper name is Duchess of York, but Duchy fits me just fine!
12/25/20 Update: Wow! What a morning. This guy called Santa Paws came last night. Everyone was excited to get to up this morning. It started with an extra yummy breakfast. Then we did this thing called opening presents. I even got some!! I got a new collar. 2 sweater, toys and a new bed. I still prefer the couch though. Then we had some yummy snacks. I better go cause it’s cooking time. It smelling so good!! Best day ever!!
12/29/20 Update: Duchess has been in our home for a week now. She really is royalty. She commands the room all while being charmingly elegant. She even sleeps in a special way😂 She walks great on a leash. Gets along with everyone she’s met. Including the cats. Is potty trained. It’s not hard to fall in love with this girl.
1/11/21 Update: I’m settling in nicely at my foster home. I already picked put my favorite spot on the couch. One of the resident Bulldogs is my new best friend. He shares his toys and wrestles with me. He usually doesn’t like to go on walks, but when I ask him to keep me company, he always does.
