London is a sweetheart! She seems to be almost completely blind, but it doesn’t stop her. She’s happy to go outside and walks pretty well on the leash. She hasn’t had a single accident inside and takes care of her business immediately upon going out. She lets me put drops in her eyes multiple times per day and loves to eat! She seems to be a big fan of Benebones too! She’s off to Bright Star tomorrow for a full evaluation on her medical needs. I know they’ll fall in love with her just as I have!
5/20/19 Update: Miss London has checked into the Gastronomy center, via personal delivery. He says that Darren is his given name, but Uber is his “street” name. Hilarious! Doc has approved our proposed dietary regime. Chief Nutrition Officer is slow cooking a 3 pound beef tip roast for all the Bulldogs today…
5/25/19 Update: Miss London here and I am thrilled to announce to Bulldog Nation that I am up for adoption. Have you ever heard a better name for Bulldog, except maybe Winston? Am I gorgeous or what? Besides my modesty, I am house trained, get along with other Bulldogs, and am not a Needy Nellie. All I want is a furever family!
Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue is proving how promising the future is for us rescued Bulldogs. I began my journey toward happiness at the “Doc Shop” where they tended to my ills, neglect, and medical issues. Now, I am healthy and prancing one paw in front of another on the path to happiness.
As I traverse the London bridge between my past and future, the council of elders at Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, in concert with my dogtor, decided that I should rehab at a Gastronomy Center. This means more food to regain my lassie physique. Wow! So they assigned me to a BBnB with a culinary staff led by a Chief Nutrition Officer (CNO). They even brought in motivational speakers Hans and Franz who kept telling me, “We want to pump you up.” Stay tuned for news of my bulking progress. Wait, the fruit tray is rolling in… “I’ll be bock,” as Ahhnold would say.
The welcoming committee served canapés for Bulldog Happy Hour, a daily event Chez Maison Ménard. We noshed on Chez-its topped with choice of cream cheese, peanut butter, or marmalade. I had one of each, maybe more, because counting is not a Bulldog forte. How yummy!
Speaking of yummy, all meals are finished in warmed yummy sauce. Depending upon the chef’s whim du jour, it could include pumpkin puree, chicken or beef broth, a tad of bacon grease, virgin coconut oil, or other treats. It always features spectacular proteins like beef, duck, salmon, shrimp, pork, lobster, chicken… salivation and slobber break… just a sec… OK, I was fantasizing about nutrition nirvana. Potential adoptive families should know how much I crave your love, food, attention, food… You get the idea!
My eyes need daily attention and I do not see well, but my dogtor says that with loving care and daily meds, my vision will improve. I do recognize loving humans when I see them.
I’ll update you next week when I have settled into more comfort. Until then, get your apps in – what are you waiting for? I won’t last long enough at this popsicle stand to melt!
6/2/19 Update: Hi everybody, Miss London here and I have an announcement. The nutrition staff here has pronounced me hale and hearty, fit for my fur-ever family. My diet is still in weight gain mode, for which you will get no arguments from me. Love me some Bully Happy Hour too!
I cannot play ball very well because my eyes need twice daily attention but my vision is improving. Better than that, my temperament is mild and welcoming of the other Bullies here. Foster peeps have granted run of the house privileges. Being in this loving resort has restored my spirit. I love to just amble around and smell the roses. I appreciate the good things in life now, am very well behaved, and epitomize the expression, “faithful companion”.
My overnight quarters are in the doggy dormitory wing of this BBnB. I have a bed on the floor beside three other fosters while the queen, permanent resident, sleeps up on foster dad’s bed. I would like to be the queen in your loving home.
When the queen is away, I get to climb up on the sofa and cuddle with one of my peeps. Invite me up for love once in a while and wow, what a life we will share!
Do you like calm, content, and happy Bullies? Check out this photo and tell me what you see. So here’s the deal. Get your application in and come see about me. TTFN, ciao, and all that jazz…
6/17/19 Update: Wow, it has been a fun week and weekend here at this BBnB. I have fully acclimated, am gaining weight, and the living is easy. I am absolutely no bother, do all my business outside, and respect all the other ladies in the inn.
My escort squired me to the Bulldogs & BBQ event at Courtesy Nissan in Richardson. Let me tell you, I just wowed the audience. Maybe they thought I was a rock star. Gosh, I was a little embarrassed by all the attention. Foster dad and I split a hot dog cuz we are both watching our weight but from different directions.
My peeps say that I am ready for my new fur-ever home. I am going to be sorry to leave them but every foster Bullie wants her own home. Call me. I will be right here waiting for you.
