Precious Melanie was miserable. She continues to struggle to get along with other dogs and even humans. After numerous episodes of human aggression a difficult decision had to be made. In consultation with our vet staff it was decided to take Melanie out of her torment and have her euthanized. Her misery is over and she can now run free with no fear across the Rainbow Bridge.
Bulldog friends I’m back! Bur I never saw this coming.
My family decided to go their separate ways and I thought surely I could go with one of them. After all I was part of the family now. But just my luck neither one wanted me now.
I am sure I never did anything wrong. I was always gentle with the kids, I loved my crate and was the best family member I could be. I still don’t like other dogs, but in a home without them I am great.
I am now 6 years old and that is a great age. I am going to start looking thru the applications for a family who will love me forever. Kids are a plus, but really all I need in another family is that they will be forever, and this time forever will mean forever.
Boy, do I have some good news to share! A nice family came all the way from Austin to my foster home in Fort Worth just to meet me. It was my very own adoption day! My new family gave me toys, asked my foster parents lots of questions about me, AND gave me unlimited belly rubs. I love my new family already and cannot believe they get to keep me forever. They have two kids and no other animals, which will be just perfect for me. They even said they’d be willing to help me through house training… whatever that means. I said my goodbyes to my foster family and hopped in the truck to drive to my new furever home in Austin. I even got the AC blowing directly on me in truck!
Morning all! It’s me Melanie joining rescue! And all I can say is it was about time. You see earlier in the week my friends Jean Grey, Storm and Krystal left for rescue and all I could think was I must have been napping because when I looked around they were gone and I was left behind. That made me One Mad Melanie! I was in an unfamiliar place around some unfamiliar faces and I was really very upset. It did take some detective work on my part to find them, but you can see from my eyebrows I have built in radars, so I was able to track them to Dr. Larsen’s lap, where I immediately made them get down. And I hopped right on up! Dr. Larsen told me I was beautiful, that she was excited to meet me, and that I was going to be her favorite. That’s fine with me because I don’t think I have ever been anyone’s favorite but I have a whole new life ahead of me and this favorite thing is going to really work for me!
7/21/20 Update: I’m enjoying my foster home and adjusting well. I crave attention of any kind. My foster mom says I’m doing exceptionally well with potty training. I am really well behaved and quite calm. I love naps on the cool tile floor and I’m getting along great with my human siblings.
7/29/20 Update: I’m starting to get more comfortable in my foster home. I sleep a lot and enjoy LOTS of belly rubs from my humans. I’m doing better with learning my manners. I even learned how to tackle the stairs! Last night, they let me play in the sprinkler and, holy cow, I enjoyed it!
