Nellie met her dream forever family a couple of weeks ago and has patiently waited to join her new mom, dad and two skin brothers. This beautiful girl’s future holds all the love and playtime that her little heart desires and we couldn’t be happier for her. Lots of nesting and preparation was going on in the past couple of weeks and all reports say that everyone couldn’t be happier and more in love with Miss Nellie!
Please welcome 3-year-old Nellie to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue! From volunteer Dianne: Never seen a cuter Bulldog than this girl right here. Nellie left the farm behind, and all things farm-related, because she wanted to move to town and be a city gal! Nellie calls herself a “thick gal” and a lover of all things fur. Nellie did, once upon a time, kill a chicken that flew in her yard, but, hey, it was Nellie’s yard so no harm there…. other than she had to change residences! Nellie is super sweet and kind of shy, but will soon be ready to be your best friend!
11/26/17 Update: Nellie has been in our home almost a week and she is just precious. Nellie is 3 years old, but she acts like a puppy. She’s discovering what it is like to live in a home that is warm, has good food and lots of love. And toys! She is definitely learning the joys of laying on a comfy bed, chewing on a favorite toy. Nellie is such a beautiful girl, with her big liquid brown eyes and little red tongue sticking out. Nellie loves to play with her foster siblings any chance she gets or just a snuggle on the couch with one of them. Attention is what Nellie craves and has been lacking, so we are trying to make up for lost time. We are working on her indoor manners, such as the nibbling she does with us when she gets excited. She is doing great on house training, with a few accidents here and there. Because she is a mill mama, she does pee on her blankets in her crate, as she just doesnt know better. With patience and lots of clean blankets on the ready, we feel confident she will conquer this in her own time. She would do best with a family with older kids because she jumps and could maybe hurt tiny fingers when she is being playful.
Nellie’s holiday wish list includes soft blankets and a leash. If you would like to be her Santa Paws, please check out our Amazon Wish List. Also, don’t forget to shop via Amazon Smile to help raise additional funds for our program!
