I think it was on Thanksgiving Day when I decided I was ready to move from my current residence and find myself a new family. A new family and a new name. My old name was Rosco, but I thought I would like a new start in life so I renamed myself Peyton. I am a football fan and I love Peyton Manning.
I really can’t put my paw on what happened in my life, but I spent most of my days outside or in the garage. Outside was nice when the weather was nice, but I really wanted to be an inside Bulldog. Maybe my family wanted a Bulldog, but then they didn’t teach me inside rules and just gave up on me. I feel like I was smart enough to learn, but as I grew older, I was just left outside.
But then the best thing happened to me!
My family gave me to a friend who knew I was something special. She wanted me to find a fabulous family who would love me, let me live inside and take me everywhere they went. My new friend contacted rescue and here I am on the road to a fabulous new life. My friend was super sad to see me go. She hugged and kissed me, and told me she loved me.
Now, I will get a little surgery to stop that lovin’ feeling for the ladies and for people’s legs. And like I said, I am a smart fella and I will learn fast. I have been around other dogs, not cats though. I was around a small child who didn’t appreciate me or my desire to knock him over and have my way with him. So, maybe no small kids for me. I am on a weight-gain program, so the next time you see me, I’ll be (almost) brand new!
12/30/20 Update: Peyton moved into his foster home a few days ago and we’ve learned he is a sweet boy and very well behaved. He figured out the doggy door within minutes and is learning to potty outside. We had a couple of accidents, but we will blame that on first-day jitters and the rain.
