It’s been a whirlwind two months for Tinsel… of learning how to be a dog, how to take a treat from a hand, how to play with toys, how to feel loved. She has worked so hard and has come so far and deserves to be loved and spoiled forever and ever and her new family will do just that. Early reports say that she is making herself right at home and learning to play with her new Frenchie sister, Lola. Her new name is Rosie which fits her perfectly. Happy life, sweet Rosie… foster mom and dad are so proud of you!
I’m one of Santa’s Six, formerly the Festive Five. At just 1 year old, I was not too keen at modeling for the photo shoot. Instead, I was all about running through the grass like a lady on fire! The grass felt strange, but in a good way. And I must say, the tutu was too much for me. I was tutu tired of wearing it and being still. But in the coming days, I may do some research on how to behave. I’m sure my next photo shoot will be fun and exciting. We shall see!
12/31/19 Update: I just moved into my new foster home and boy, do I like it! I’m learning all kinds of new things. Foster Pa had to show me how to lay in a cushy dog bed. I’ve never done that before. Before rescue, I could only lay in my wire cage. As you can see, I figured out how nice it is real quick. I heard from my foster sibs that the coveted spot around here is with Foster Pa in his chair watching football. I’m not sure what football is, but if it has to do with Foster Pa’s lap, I’m all for it. I also don’t know what toys are yet, but Foster Ma says that’s OK and that we’ll work on that. Foster Ma says I’ve got a LOT to learn and asks everyone to follow our journey as I learn how to be the puppy I’ve never got to be. Oh, and she also says to point out that I’ve got polka-dot ears. She says you all like Bulldogs with polka-dot ears!
1/9/20 Update: Tinsel has found her way onto her foster pop’s lap! This sweet girl has made major strides in her first week with us. She is still very cautious and timid about certain things, but has slowly found joy in toys, laps, and snuggles – all things an 11-month old puppy should already know.
The video shows the first day she figured out how to play with Foster Pa and toys. She can be quite the character. As I’m typing up this update, I can hear her in the other room tossing and shaking toys – playing all by herself. This is not the same little girl that cowered in her crate, afraid to come out just a week ago.
She is fine in our home with three of our pups, but our grouchy old lady, Mo Ditty, challenged her and Tinsel did not back down and defended herself. I don’t think she would have done that last week. She hasn’t tried to play with the others yet, but I can tell she wants to figure out how to interact with them.
Tinsel needs a family that will be patient with her, as she becomes comfortable to her new home and routine and willing to work on training and commands. And a family that will let her be the puppy she never got to be!
