Trixie

Trixie

Well, this first-time foster Mom and Dad just said goodbye to our Sweet Trixie.  She is on her way to her new home in Austin with her new furever family and her new fur brother, Dude.  And best of all she gets two new human sisters to love and spoil her all over!! I bet playing dress-up is in her future!  This is a happy beginning for Trixie of the Fortunate Five as she now has the life she so deserves. Happy Tails sweet girl.

Welcome Trixie–one of the Fortunate Five to Rescue! Trixie recently had her last litter. She is very loving and loves time on the couch. Trixie is Heartworm positive, has ear mites, an ear infection, and fleas. She needs spayed, needs a mass removed and some dental work. Check back for regular updates on this sweet girl.

11/16/16 Update:  Sweet Trixie is still on crate rest and is slowly becoming a “real” dog again! She is the sweetest little girl ever! She now knows what grass and sunshine are and can’t get enough of either. She loves when it’s time to take her outside breaks and just wants to slowly walk around sniffing everything, rolling in the grass, and laying in the sunshine. She gets along with all of the other critters here (dogs, cats, chickens, and horses) and has discovered what all true bulldogs are supposed to do – sleep on the couch with their human!!  She has two more weeks on crate rest and we’re anxious to see how much energy she has then, because those nasty heart worms sure do make her feel crummy now.  So for now, it’s just sleep, sleep, and more sleep.

11/21/16 Update:  Trixie of the Fortunate Five is the sweetest little girl, ever! She seems to be feeling 100% now after her heartworm treatment, thank goodness. Trixie loves to be right by my side all the time – when we walk to the barn, when I’m at my desk, or on the couch! She is the best little buddy and is always looking for some love hugs and rubs. We’re working on basic commands and I have to reassure her constantly that she’s NOT in trouble! The only “bad” thing she’s done is tear up our cork coasters! It’s actually pretty funny because she waits until no one is in the room and then she jumps up on the couch and grabs one from the end table. She’s done this four times now. But she hasn’t chewed up anything else – not even any of her toys! It’s so funny that I can’t really get mad at her for doing it and luckily, cork coasters are cheap. I’m pretty sure she is housebroken – but so far, she hasn’t actually gone to the door to ask out. I’ve had to remind her when it’s time. She really is the perfect little Bulldog and I know that anyone that meets her will instantly fall in love with her – just like we have!
