Xena (now Bindi)

Xena (now Bindi)

Xena The Princess Warrior has been adopted! From her foster momma: Today was the day this little girl has been looking forward to all week. Xena will now be known as Bindi.

Bindi met her family last weekend and it was love at first sight. They just couldn’t resist this sweet, little 32 lb Bulldog. No one can!

Bindi now has a new mom, dad and two awesome brothers that just had to pull all her new toys out and show her everything they got her.

She also will have a beautiful boxer sister named Ella. Ella and Bindi hit it off right from the start.

Not going to lie, this was a tough one for this foster momma and dad to let go. Bindi is one amazing girl. We couldn’t have picked a better family for her. We just know this amazing family is going to give this special girl the perfect life.

Please welcome Xena The Princess Warrior to our rescue family. From volunteer Dianne: In the world of Bulldogs, there’s never a shortage of scams and “sounds too good to be true” stories. And this is how Xena came to be. Imagine receiving a pic of a really cute puppy, but then seeing a Bulldog looking like Xena arrive.

It’s enough to make you sick … sick for the poor puppy that can’t stop scratching and smells really bad. Sick that you’re afraid even to hold the puppy. And sick that you trusted someone, but got duped instead. Xena will turn one on Feb. 17, but her body looks much older. She has sores all around her neck where she has scratched until she bled. Her eyes and ears are infected, and she can’t even get comfortable when she lies down.

Today was a rescue day that makes you want to cry for the dogs that don’t have a voice. We also cry that there are people that call this problem “just allergies and she needs a Benedryl.” For those owners, I have no words. At least, no words that I can type. It’s not OK to a let a dog suffer like this.

But we thank the family who knew she needed more extensive treatments and worked to get her to our program. May Xena’s healing begin!

3/21/19 Update:   Xena moved into her foster home a few days ago and boy, is it just a big love fest here. Xena just loves people so much! More updates to come when we learn more about this teeny tiny girl. Xena will be attending this Sunday’s (March 24) event at The Station Patio IceHouse in Keller, so come out and share some love with her.
