Please keep the furever family of Duchess in your thoughts. She earned her angel wings today. Her momma writes: I wanted to let Lone Star know that Duchess my senior baby has passed. Several issues developed during the last 2 months and she just couldn’t get past them with help from me or the vet. She was a precious girl, so loving. I will surely miss that sweet baby. Reggie will miss her as well.

The Duchess has left Rescue to go to her castle. She has been adopted! Miss Duchess has a new family! Becky sent me this picture of her relaxing with her new brother Reggie. She informed me that Reggie just loves Duchess and they get along really well. She is adjusting to her new life very quickly, but who wouldn’t with a mom like Becky.

Welcome 8 year old Duchess to Rescue. Her owner moving and going to graduate school. It was a very emotional surrender.  Her owner even paid for her spay , and catching up on shots! Stay tuned for more updates on this precious girl.

6/13/16 Update:  Duchess is 8 yrs old and her family surrendered her when they moved and could not take her with them.  I am sooooooo glad to have her with me.  I picked her up Saturday the 11th from our Vet, after her spay on Friday the 10th.  When they brought her out to me Dr. W’s assistant Kim told me she had really been missing her family.  We then went to our Hollywood Feed event in Allen and she looked out the window all the way with this sad lonely face.  I didn’t know what to expect, the minute she saw all the people and other bullies she forgot she was sad. She loved all the people and all the bullies that were there.  By the time we got home that evening she was a happy girl.  No more sad face, just tail wiggles and kisses for me.

I love this girl!  Even though she is 8 Yrs. old you wouldn’t know it.  She loves the back yard, she sniffs everything and Bully Butt that is out there.  She gets very excited when it’s time to go out.  Inside she is as quite as a mouse.  She wants to be everywhere you are, but she is so quite about it you forget she’s there until you turn around and run over her!  LOL.  She takes her medicine very well and goes right in her crate to sleep.  She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body.  We had a thunder storm last night and she has no fear of thunder. Unlike most bullies she doesn’t mind the wet grass on her feet.  Went right out to potty before bed. She is on a special food for her tummy that she will have to be on  the rest of her life, but other then that she has no special needs.  She is a wonderful girl and would be great with any family.  Duchess is great with children, dogs and cats.  She is the easiest baby I have ever fostered. I have already fallen in love with her.  I will have pictures in the next update, just letting her adjust to me and her new home right now.
6/16/16 Update:  Duchess has wonderful news! She is going to be ADOPTED this weekend. Her new mom is a sweet lady who has adopted from us many times. Duchess feels so special because her new mom is driving from Houston just to pick her up. She will have a new fur-Bully brother to play with. I am so happy for all of them. This is why all of us in rescue do this… Thank you to everyone who made this happen and a very special thanks to her furever mom for loving her!
