It is with heavy heart that we announce that we had to assist Pixie in crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Her cancerous leg tumor had continued to grow and spread at a rapid rate. She had been operated on three times to remove it and it just kept growing. She was in very obvious pain and had become quite aggressive with the clinic staff caring for her. These decisions are never easy. They are made in consultation with the vet staff and in light of what is best for Pixie. Run free sweet girl!
Welcome 5-year-old Pixie to our rescue family. She found herself in an area shelter. There, the staff did her spay and removed a cancerous tumor from her lower leg. They were not able to remove all the mass because they did not want to keep her under anesthesia any longer. So she still has a large swollen growth on her leg and we’ll be handling it from here.
But she runs and acts like nothing ever happened or is wrong. She is now at our vet and will be checked out and perhaps prepped for another surgery to hopefully remove the whole mass. She is a very sweet gal and we hope and pray for the best. In the meantime, she will just continue to live life to the fullest. Unfortunately, with everything else going on with this gal, she his heart-worm positive.
Stay tune for updates as we get them.
