Shrek

Shrek

Please keep our friend and furever momma Heather in your thoughts today. She’s heartbroken after having to say goodbye to her beloved Shrek.

She writes: I adopted Shrek from Lone Star Bulldog Club back in 2013. It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today that Shrek crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the early hours of March 27, 2020 here in Austin, Texas. It was unexpected and of course I am beyond devastated.

Shrek was my guardian angel, best friend, and pretty much the best dog a girl could ask for. He was my heart and I’m 99% sure he took it with him to heaven. I miss him so much.

Many of my friends and family knew Shrek. He was just that type of dog. Everyone who met him fell in love with him. He was incredibly kind and so friendly. As a result, a family friend has given me a check for Lone Star Bulldog Club, as a donation in honor of Shrek.

Thank you for all you do for Bulldogs in Texas. My family has adopted Shrek and my Dad adopted Maggie from Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, too. We really appreciate all you do, especially right now during this very difficult time. Please stay safe and healthy.

Here are my favorite photos of Shrek. My favorite is the one where he is sitting in the umbrella. We left it out to dry and he just sat in it. It always makes me laugh. I remember asking him, “Shrek, where are you going? Is the umbrella going to take you somewhere, like Mary Poppins?”

I would have written sooner, but this has been one of the first days I don’t cry. Thanks for sending the address. The check should arrive sometime this week. Again, thanks for all you do. You guys are amazing.
