My house is missing a loved one. I look in all of the familiar places and Lily isn’t there. She was the queen, the mama, the adult of my fur babies. I love them all, but Lily was the special one that had the biggest piece of my heart. She was my first rescue. When my 10-year-old Bulldog, Bella died suddenly I looked to LSBRC for another fur baby. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Little did I know what a perfect fit came to live with me almost four years ago. She was a 5-year-old mill mama. She thought her first job was to be my protector. I knew that she would tackle a grizzly bear if she thought I was in danger. Her heart was much bigger than her size. She had a regurgitation problem and she developed pneumonia. I took her to the ER last Sunday evening when she was having difficulty breathing. She fought it all week with several meds and a nebulizer. She seemed better on Thursday, and then Friday night took a turn for the worse. She was too weak to fight any more.
Thank you LSBRC and especially Rita for fostering Lily. It is an honor to be part of such a caring, generous group
Zoey joined rescue today as a owner surrender. Zoey is just about a perfect little bulldog that will take your away with her charm and beauty. She loves other dogs. She will be going to the clinic for a check-up and to be spayed. Then she will start her search for the perfect new forever home.
