Addi has been adopted! From her foster momma: I knew when Addi came to stay with us that she was extra spectacular. She was royalty, but she wanted for nothing and she expected nothing… and that is because she never had anything. It was truly a Cinderella story. I knew whoever was going to adopt Addi, was going to have to make up for the love Addi never had. I honestly thought no one would ever be good enough for this sweet baby. Well, I was wrong.
A beautiful family from Arkansas drove all the way to Fort Worth to meet this girl. They actually had fallen in love with her before they met her. I could tell they had followed her very closely on all of the Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue social media posts. They knew everything about her before they even met her. Not knowing what the outcome of this meet and greet would be, they were totally prepared. They knew only the best would do for this queen. They prepared their home with purple bedding, a purple towel (they knew she loved to play with towels💕), and packed the car with a beautiful purple bling harness and leash. When they reached our home and got out of the car, I watched Addi very closely. It was love at first site. I could tell she knew her forever family had come for her. It was very apparent that Terry, Reesa, and Otis were now complete. It was as if they all knew each other all of their lives. With her bag packed full, we gave Addi hugs, kisses, extra kisses, and a few more hugs. As we tearfully waved a “see you later,” Addi drove off with her forever family. Never will I say goodbye to this girl because I know I’ll visit her soon. Whoever said fairytales don’t come true?
Morning all you bulldog people, it’s me, Addi! Well actually upon looking at my formal birth certificate I realize my proper name is Queen Addi Sophie! Has anyone seen my crown? I should be wearing a crown. Fine time for me to learn I am royalty! I am 4 years old and I am very shy. In fact, I never left my home much and seeing and hearing different things kinda scares me. I am learning to walk on a leash, well sorta. A leash kinda scares me too. But what I do love is a lap. Yes a lap. The ladies at the clinic are letting me sit in theirs and I really like that. And someone is also hand feeding me. Finally someone understands that I am in need of all kinds of personal attention now that they realize I am a Queen. I I have a little work that needs to happen here at the clinic but then I will be looking thru the applications deciding which family will be lucky enough to adopt me, Queen Addi Sophie.
7/11/18 Update: Queen Addi Sophie here!!! This beautiful queen is settling into her first castle with Foster Mom and Pop and two fur siblings. First castle you ask? Well, actually yes! You see, I’ve lived my life outdoors and didn’t even realize I was a queen until I was rescued. I must say, It’s actually taken a bit of getting used to. I keep thinking I’m supposed to be outside but Foster Mom insists I am a queen and deserve to live in the castle. It’s pretty cool and comfy in here! I think I’m going to like this castle life style! Oh, and get this, this is also the first time I’ve ever sat on a throne. Well, Foster Pops says it’s a “couch” but Foster Mom insists its a throne. Whatever it is, It feels so good!!
And oh my, I forgot to mention the people in the black box on the wall! I was very intrigued and sometimes a bit startled to see people living in a box on the wall! Foster Mom says it’s something called a TV…??? Oh, and may I tell you about my bed? It is fluffy and comfy and feels oh so good!! Fit for a queen! And the food and cookies, all I can say is yum yum yum yum yum!! Toys, let me tell you about these things called toys. I’m not sure what they are but they’re really cute and I think they are going to be super fun!!! Foster fur brother and sister give me play lessons everyday!
Foster Mom says I’m a beautiful little lady, full of love. I love people, and other pups. I am very mannerly. I potty outside, no, no, no, never in the castle. I’m ready for my first real furever family! Will you be mine? Smooches, Queen ADDI Sophie
7/30/18 Update: It’s too hot to play outside so I’ve been finding things to do around the house. I’m still a bit shy, but have begun to wander outside of the bedroom and now find myself hanging out in the living room and kitchen. There’s a lot of activity going on out there and, oh goodness, I can’t stand to miss it! I know what the cookie jar sounds like and yep, I’m there in a split second when I hear the lid coming off! I’ve also learned the sound of food pouring in my bowl and oh my, that’s the best sound ever!
I have learned that Addi is my name and when someone calls my name, I now come running. Foster Mom refers to me as a “little jack rabbit!” I love watching TV while sitting on your lap and enjoy playing with my new favorite toy. I’m sure you’re wondering what this new toy is… Well, let me tell you: it’s a towel. Yes, a towel. I love playing with towels! Life is great now and just gets better each day! I continue to love my fur sister and brother, Foster Mom and Pop, and every other person and pup I come in contact with. Now, all I need is a furever home and family to love. 💕 Hugs and wet kisses, Addi
8/30/18 Update: Update from Foster Mom: Addi saw what a difficult time I was having writing an update this week. I honestly couldn’t find the words to explain to the world, the amazing transformation of my Addi girl. So, Addi informed me she wanted send in her own update.
From Addi: Dear Skin Peoples,
I just wanted to say a big big Tank You! Tank you Bulldog rescue people for saving me from a very sad, hard life. The best day of my life was when this sweet skin lady from Lone Star Bulldog rescued me.
Since that time, I have overcome a great deal of fear. I have officially faced my fears, and put all my faith and trust in my foster family. They showed me there’s no need to fear, and I’ve learned what love and happiness is! Now all I can say is, look out world! There’s a new Addi-tude and she is coming out! Just like my favorite song, I’m coming out, I want the world to know, I gots to let it show! I am positive, and I am gonna do it, like you never knew it! The time has come for me to break out of the shell, because I’ve got to show the world all that I want to be!!
Now I’m ready to show my furever family my billities and that I’ve got this ADDI-tude well in hand!
Hugs and Wet Smooches! Addi
