Bentley

Bentley

Bentley Boy!!  He is a darling middle aged guy that was given up because they said he did not like the grandchildren that were moving in with his previous owner.  When we picked him up from the shelter that he was dropped at he was so confused, sad and frightened.  Look at that adorable face…..how could you give that up???  His previous owners did supply the shelter with his medications and his vet records.  He has been taken good care of but has ongoing medical issues that should be considered by his next family.  Currently he is taking Phenobarbital for seizures and Prednisone for allergies.  We are having our vets evaluate these medications to see if we need to make any changes.  Hopefully we will get him off of the Prednisone and on to something that is easier on his system.

For people that have never had a seizure dog it can be a frightening experience but with medication they lead normal lives.  You may occasionally see a breakthrough seizure and if so a medication adjustment may be in order.  Your vet can give you the best advice for that.  Please don’t let the fact that he is a seizure dog scare you away from precious Bentley.  The medications are inexpensive and work well as long as they are given at regular intervals.

In the short time we took him from the shelter to our vet we learned that he knew a few commands like sit, shake, etc.  The other dogs at the vet’s office didn’t seem to bother him so we are thinking me may do fine with other dogs.  He will not be adopted to anyone with small children.  Bentley is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and on heartworm preventative.  He is currently being boarded at the vet as we have no available fosters homes.  Please consider this sweet boy for your family.  His adoption fee is $400.
