Kahlua

Kahlua

Happy, happy adoption day, sweet Kahlua! It was literally love at first sight. Kahlua was so excited about her new family! Although it was extremely hard letting her go, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind Kahlua will be so happy and very loved in her new home. Happy tears!

Kahlua!  Dark, rich, irresistible, makes you do crazy things if you have too much. Kahlua. Great on ice cream. Made with coffee beans, sweet and satisfying. Well, there ya go! Just a few words to describe me. And all this time I bet you thought I was talking about Kahlua the drink!  Well, I was. But a lot of those terms describe me too! I am the only Kahlua you need in your life though!  At age 4 I am about 40 pounds of bulldog perfection!  I consider myself amazing in every way.  I walk well on a leash, I have a great appetite and I love all dogs. I met a cat today and other than her wacking me across the face when I got too close to her, I liked her too. I have had some babies in my day, but my baby days are over. I am headed to Dr. Larsen’s on Monday to do some lap sitting, some ice cream eating, and to have a nip tuck here and there so I can get back into my bikini wearing body.  Watch my journey thru rescue and watch me be adopted by an amazing family that has always wanted a Kahlua just like me!

10/22/19 Update:  I’m about 4 years old and have been a mom most of those years. As you may know, being a stay-at-home mom is a very hard job. But my babies are all out of the house and have their own families now…. and I’m now part of rescue! It’s finally my time to be my own WOMAN! I’m ready to feel the wind in my face and have someone feed me ice cream.

Getting attention is my new favorite thing! Maybe because I was always giving attention to others… never getting any for myself. This change is GREAT!

I’m a medium-sized girl, about 40 pounds. I’m always happy and sweet, too (never grumpy)! I do great walking on my new leash, even though I never had one before I got to rescue. I like other dogs and cats, too. My new life has opened up a lot of wonderful things to me.

Let me tell you about picture day. I got to dress up in fancy things and people took my picture. I was so good! I posed real pretty for them. I think modeling may be my new career. Sure, I may be getting a little ahead of myself, but I’m just excited about my new life.

Everyone tells me I will have a family of my own soon… one that they will love me and take care of me. I will sleep, eat and play whenever I want to… wow! I learned a new word today: Pamper. It means to spoil, indulge, coddle, pet or wait on someone hand and foot. From what I hear, that’s what a family does for a sweet, special Bulldog. Well, that’s just fine by me.

I love my life now, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings. Especially that PAMPERING thing.

It’s spa time around here, so I’ve got to go get my bath, massage and cucumber mask before lunch. Talk to you soon! Kahlua

11/20/19 Update:   Kahlua has been with us for a little over a week now and is slowly gaining our trust. This sweet girl prefers the comfort of her kennel, but yesterday she decided to do a little exploring. Foster Dad caught Miss Kahlua pulling the tree skirt out from under the tree so she could have a nice little place to nap. What a little cutie patootie!

12/18/19 Update:  The first week we had Kahlua, this sweet girl refused to come out of her kennel. She looked so sad, wouldn’t make eye contact, and would shake if anyone came near her. I would patiently sit by her kennel and love on her as much as I could so she’d gain my trust.

On the fourth day, Kahlua came out of her kennel and briefly explored her surroundings. She’d take a few steps, then run back into her kennel. She kept doing this over and over again, exploring a little more each time.

Two weeks go by and she discovered how nice and comfy a couch can be, but still found her kennel a safe place to run for cover.

Four weeks go by and the couch is now her favorite spot in the house and belly rubs/cuddle time are a must!

It’s now six weeks. This sweet, sweet girl loves to run after her tennis ball, can’t get enough snuggles and belly rubs, owns the couch, and refuses to go in her kennel.

As her foster mom, It warms my heart to see how far along this beautiful young lady has come.
