Kiki Love

Kiki Love

Awesome adoption alert!  Kiki Love has found her forever home! We were so happy to foster this sweet angel. She has a new mom and dad and a fur sister.  We know she will have many happy years with her new family.  Special thank you to Dr. Larsen for taking such great care of her when she entered rescue.

Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?

Say you’ll never ever leave from beside me

‘Cause I want ya, and I need ya

And I’m down for you always.

Well, I could go on singing loud and proud but I think you get the message.  I love to sing!  I am about 50 lbs. of fabulous if I say so myself!  I love everyone and everything I meet.  You might can tell from my profile that I thought I was going to be a bulldog mama, but as luck would have it, my babies would not latch on, so a bulldog friend of mine is raising my babies. Fine by me, now I am closing up shop, having a little surgery in the future to make sure that doesn’t happen again and looking for a lap to sit on.  I crawled right up in Dr. Larsen’s lap yesterday and she was super excited to visit with me. Dr. Larsen called me a beautiful brindle beauty and said I might need to go home with her. She might me right,  I am all about going home to some home cooked meals.  Watch for updates about me, Kiki Love, the bulldog that really can sing!

1/12/20 Update:   Big Bulldog head, feet, body personality and attitude… this is Kiki Love. She even has that Bulldog waddle when she walks. Yep, she’s pretty perfect. Now, she does have a little baggage underneath, because she’s been a mom in the past. That just gives her character!
She’s about 4 years old and in the prime of her life. She is a doll and 50 lbs of love that wants to sit in your lap all the time.

We had the best time with her on picture day. She waddled right in, laid down on the set and looked up at us, as if to say, “I’m ready for my close up.” Just like I said, she has a personality.
I think I spent more time hugging her, squishing her face, and kissing her than I did taking her pictures. She’s just so fluffy and sweet, you can’t resist doing all those things when she looks at you.

Kiki Love also has that special Bulldog attitude. You know the one:”Yes, I’m A Bulldog. Yes, I’m Beautiful. Yes, You’re Going to Love Me Instantly.Yes, I’m Going to Do What I Want, When I Want ~ Not When You Want Me To.Oh, And You’re Going to Love Me In Spite of That Last One!”

Yes, that attitude. We all know about it, have lived with it or have always wanted a Bulldog so we could live with it.

Like I said, she’s perfect. From her Bulldog appearance to her Bulldog attitude, she’s got it all. She’ll be moving in with her foster family soon and I’m sure she’ll let them know how things are going to be done! We Bulldog lovers know how this game goes. You’re never in charge, when a Bulldog comes to live with you!

1/27/20 Update:  I could just go on and on about this girl. She’s my fluffy, waddle butt baby. She gets so excited when she sees me. I would like to think it’s just me, but that’s what she does when she sees anyone, actually. She LOVES people!

Kiki Love has been through a lot the last couple of weeks. When Dr. Larsen spayed her, she found Kiki had pyometra, but that wasn’t all. Because of the number of Kiki’s previous litters, her uterus had been stretched to an extremely large size. Between the pyometra and the size of her uterus, it was a very difficult surgery for Kiki. Afterward, she began to bleed and had to have a pressure wrap around her body for several days. We were concerned if she would make it, but with God’s blessing and Kiki’s strength, she did.

Even at Kiki’s worst time, when you walked to her bed, she would try to get up to see you. You would have to make her lay down before you loved on her. She’s such a strong girl and she loves people so much that she doesn’t want to miss a chance to see them.

The pressure bandage is off, and she is doing GREAT! She’s becoming her old self again. She was perfect on picture day and you can see how she has bounced back. Kiki Love’s the Bulldog who walks into the room and everyone just goes, “Ahhhh!” She waddles up, looks at you and you just melt.

As soon as Doc gives her the medical release, she will be off to her foster home and ready to start looking for her forever family.

2/10/20 Update:  I have been in my foster home for just over a week and I am loving it! I have two fur foster siblings, one of them is the famed alumna Tory Burch. I get along with both of them really well.

I am just as sweet as can be! I love to be near my foster parents all of the time, but I’m not too needy… the same room is just fine. I do like to snuggle on the couch with you as well, but I’m perfectly happy in my crate. In fact, I sleep all night long in my crate with no problems at all.

I am working hard on the whole potty training thing, and I nearly have it down pat. 🙂

Foster mom took a silly video of me and Tory (she is the first dog in the video). I waited my turn for my close up, like a lady.

I had some surgery on my eyes and they have healed up great. I am ready to rock and roll!

Hope you all have a great week.
