Louie

Louie

Louie has been adopted by his wonderful foster pop. We congratulate them both. It was a match made in heaven from the beginning!

Louie here, checking in from just visiting Santa Claus! I joined rescue today and I heard that great things happen here and I wanted Santa to know that I am one great thing too! Back a couple months ago I was living outside, in pretty bad shape, just wondering what happened to make my family for them to not love me any more? After all, I was once their everything, then I became their forgotten thing.  But then my luck changed! A friend of a friend of a friend found out about me and they came and picked me up, cleaned me up, and took me to the vet. I was on the road to recovery with a wonderful family. I was living inside, I was eating great food, and I had it all! But guess what? My new family had twins, yep, the skin kind.  And I LOVED them.  They would hoop and holler and do twin stuff and I would bark and bark and do bulldog stuff!  It could be like a “3 ring circus” when we got going!

Little did I know that not everyone thought me barking and running like a mad man was cute and I would get on big people’s nerves! So, with tears in their eyes they realized I needed a family who loved an active bulldog, who loved a bulldog that loved to sleep in a human bed, and loved a lot of attention.  That’s me, Louie!  I also love kids, other dogs, and I love Santa Claus. He’s going to bring me a family of my own. My family with twins, they loved me enough to know I deserved to be able to bark and run and play without someone always saying “Ok, Louie let’s play the quiet game!” I never liked that game! I am 3 years old, who wants to be quiet at 3 years old?

4/3/19 Update:  Louie is the most athletic bulldog I have ever had the pleasure to know.  He really enjoys being able to run and play.  Would not suggest a small kennel due to his past experiences.  Not food or toy aggressive.  A sweet boy, loves attention.  He does bark when he’s outside and wants to come in to be with his people but that has gotten better.  Very healthy dog.  Think he would work well in an active family.  He is really starting to come out of his shell.  He just needed time to run and find his way.  A really good dog…
