Nigel

Nigel

It was like a dream come true when Nigel learned he had a family because, at age 9, Nigel knew it would take a miracle for someone to want to love and adopt him. But it happened. Nigel was adopted today and he will be loved forever. Amy and her mom Rita drove up from Waco and made it official. Nigel has a home. Nigel will have a fur sister, Lilly, who is a Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue alumna, and a cat. Nigel acted like he had known his new family forever and was ready to head home. Way to go, Nigel!

Please welcome Nigel to our rescue family. At the age of 9, Nigel was allowed to retire and leave a breeding program. He’s scared to death, afraid to move and not wanting to walk… but Nigel is free. He will never live that life again. We’ll post more about him when we can.

4/11/17 Update:  Hey Bulldog friends. It’s me, Nigel, back from a very long vacation! Well, not really a vacation … more like a staycation. But, wow, I’m like a new man now! As you might remember, at the age of 9, I was able to leave a breeding program where I was “A Ladies Man!” Well, I got that taken care of, and not only that, I got all my teeth pulled on the bottom. Turns out all the infection in my gums from my rotten teeth was preventing me from eating and keeping me sick. So….. I went to sleep on the table, Dr. Larsen changed me from a rooster to a hen…. and I woke up needing dentures! Yep, I need dentures, but I would also settle for someone that will soften my small kibble and add some canned food to my meals so I can continue gaining weight. I know I still look thin, but I have a big appetite now, and prepare yourself for the beefy Nigel that you will soon see. So, Bulldog people, I am New Nigel now, and I am looking for either a good set of dentures, or a family that loves seniors, that will feed me softened kibble, let me forget my past and love me forever!
