Scout came to us from a local shelter, he was heartworm positive and in pretty rough shape. He has been treated for heartworms but still needs a somewhat sedate lifestyle for a little longer. Scout had NO training or manners when he came into rescue. We have been working with him in those areas. Therefore he will need to go to someone with a LOT of bulldog experience and no children. It is worth noting that Scout did not get along with the other dogs at the foster’s home but as you can see below he did well with the trainer and her other dogs.
The comments below are from a certified trainer that has been working with Scout:
“Scout is one of those dogs that prefer to be with his people; he sniffs the cats, does well with the other dogs and is very loving. He is quite the kisser. He will head butt the crate when he first goes in, but when told to stop it, he does and lies down.
Walking him on a prong collar is the ticket for him. Once outside the crate, he settles right down and is ready to give kisses and sit by you. He loves to sit on the bench outside with Walter. He gets better every day – particularly since he is learning that he does get out of the crate – even though he has to go back. He so loves the outside, but the heat does not permit him to have the kind of time out in the yard he would like – typical bulldog.”
Scout is 2 – 3 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. If you have time to work with his little guy we feel he will make someone a great companion. His adoption fee is $450.
