Simba Joe

Simba Joe

So long, friends… yesterday was my Adoption Day!
There are days when your people roll up and you just know they are here for you. Well, yesterday was MY day! My people rolled in from the Austin area, so I know they wanted me in the best possible way.
They brought a bed and toys with them, and even had snacks in case I got hungry on the road trip to my new home. That sure sounds good to me… a new home, just in time for Christmas! Santa IS real and wishes DO come true, even for dogs.
It didn’t take me long to load up my bag of toys and call shotgun. I kissed Foster Mom bye-bye and we hit the road!
Merry Christmas to all…. and to all a good night!
I knew mom and dad were sad and then a man showed up and they started to cry. What was happening? That’s when I learned tough times call for tough decisions. Between financial issues and having to share another person’s house, my parents explained they were making the best decision for me. I love them and I know they love me. I know they made a tough choice, but they did so because it was best for me.
On a positive side, let me tell you a little about myself. I am 3 years old and have the average energy for a dog my age. I have very good manners. I know how to go outside to do my business and will tell you when I need to go. I walk well on a leash and I have always enjoyed being around other dogs.
I think my stay at the vet clinic should be short, as I appear to be in perfect health. I will be going to a foster home soon and them reviewing the applications for a family perfectly suited for a beautiful boy like me.
11/20/20 Update:  Simba Joe is in the house of Saltine this week! We’re excited to report that we have a family being considered for him, so so don’t get too attached.
Simba is all BOY! He is rambunctious, full of energy and LOVES to play. He is potty trained and knows how to sit and stay.
He needs to work on: sharing his toys with humans and dogs, table surfing and standing up on the counter! He likes to rough-house when he plays and gets mouthy, so small children should be well supervised. He does NOT like spray bottles and will run over EVERYTHING to get away from them, including your coffee table!
Simba is super sweet, LOVES everyone and is self-entertaining with his toys. He is the total, beautiful, Bulldog package. With proper training, he will be the best companion for a very lucky family!
11/23/20 Update:   I’m thankful for many things, but this week, I’m pretty sure I’ll be thankful for turkey and punkin’ pie! I’m just going to lay here and pace myself before the big day.
12/1/20 Update:  Foster Dad is out of town this week and left Foster Mom in charge of all the critters! I’m just going to sit here with this silly grin until she gets the snacks done in the correct order. So far, I’ve had banana chips and apple slices that were supposed to go to the pig! (Shhhhhh… nobody say a word….)

12/14/20 Update:  I’m staying snug as a bug today! It’s cold outside, but not THAT cold. Foster Momma put on my jacket so we could head outside and I was like, “Wait a minute, lady… you are ruining my street cred!”

I sat down and refused to move a step closer to the door until she took that silly thing off of me. She was about to make me go outside in that? Whew!

Meanwhile, Foster Dad has been hard at work trying to take my toys from me these past few weeks. He calls it “sharing!” I’m still not sure I agree with calling it sharing, but I will bring it over and lay next to you and think about it for a minute. Progress!
