Sumo has been adopted and will now be known as Porter. This happy, happy little boy has hit the jackpot with his new mom, dad, 2 skin brothers and a fur sister that just happens to come from LSBCR, too. Porter and Jojo, formerly Calico, met and it was the perfect match! Porter will never want for anything with this amazing family and all reports today say he has made himself at home. The couch was his favorite spot in his foster home and Im told he’s already claimed theirs!
Not going to lie…letting this boy go wasn’t easy, but we know he is where he belongs with his forever family! Hugs and kisses to you, Porter!
I think this song John Denver wrote is all about me…
All my bags are packed
I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin’
It’s early morn
The taxi’s waitin’
He’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so lonesome
I could die
This just about sums up my life. I’m only 3 years old, but I’ve already had four homes. That math doesn’t sound right, does it?
I was bought when I was 8 weeks old and I went to a rescue group at 24 weeks. Because of my allergies.
When I was 6 1/2 months, that rescue group adopted me out, but I was returned when I was 11 months. Because of my allergies.
At almost 2 years old, that group adopted me out again, yet I returned after four months. Because of my allergies.
My last family kept me for five months before returning me. Because of my allergies.
My last family was giving me fish oil and I lost a lot of my hair. As it turns out, I am allergic to fish, chicken, pork, turkey and potatoes… and grains are not my friend.
Today, I am where I have always wanted to be… in a Bulldog-specific rescue. Bulldog people know all about Bulldogs and this thing I hear about being “high maintenance” does not scare them one bit.
I am sure my next home is going to be my forever home. I LOVE other dogs, and kids too. I am 100% house trained.
My only problem is with food allergies, but there is food I can eat. One of them is Zignature kangaroo. I need my forever family to understand they can’t keep switching my food. They have to read the labels on treat bags and they have to promise me that they will be my forever family. I’m really tired of moving.
1/10/20 Update: I joined Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue about a week ago. I’ve been in a rescue before, but it wasn’t Bulldog specific, so I’m glad I’m now with people who know my breed inside-and-out!
From the time I was 8 weeks old, I’ve been in four different homes. I would be adopted out…. and then returned. Adopted out, returned. Adopted out, returned. You get the picture. Why was I a hot potato? Because of my food allergies. My families just never could figure that out. You see, I’m allergic to fish, chicken, pork and potatoes. Grain is a no-no too!
That’s why I’m here now with this group because they understand the whole allergy thing. So far, we’ve learned I can eat Zignature kangaroo. We are testing some other foods, too. My new family will have to know these things and stick to my new diet. Other than food allergies, I’m just a 55 lb, healthy guy!
I’m 3 years old and as sweet as Southern peaches. I have very good manners. I know this because they told me how wonderful I was during my photo shoot. I also got a ton of hugs and kisses that day. The lady said it was her pleasure to take my picture because I was such a good boy. She gave me a big kiss before I went outside to play with the other dogs.
Because I have been moved around so much, I’m a pretty quiet boy. I want so much, for someone to love me and keep me forever! I can’t help my food allergies~ I was just born with them. I want a family who doesn’t give up on me again. Everyone here tells me that’s just what I’m going to get this time! They know lots of Bulldog-savvy people that would just love to have a boy like me!
I’m counting on that because I’m sure tired of loving people and then having to pack my bags.
