7/12/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Barnacle Bill to our rescue family!
Ahoy, mateys! Make way for the newest pirate to sail into rescue… Barnacle Bill!
This ruggedly handsome fella may only have one eye, but don’t let that fool you. He’s got twice the personality, twice the determination and enough charm to steal every heart he meets.
Because he was a shelter save, nobody knows exactly what adventures Barnacle Bill has been through before finding his way to rescue. But those days are behind him now. He’s traded rough seas for soft beds, empty bowls for full ones, and uncertainty for a crew that’s committed to giving him the life he deserves.
Barnacle Bill is settling in, soaking up the love and reminding everyone that being a little different just makes you even more unforgettable. We can’t wait to learn more about this salty old sailor as he begins his journey toward a new home.
Welcome aboard, Barnacle Bill! Your greatest adventure is just beginning.

Barnacle Bill is safe today because a foster family gave him a place to drop anchor. But there are still Bulldogs waiting for their chance, and we can only rescue as many dogs as we have foster homes.

8/9/26 UPDATE ~ Barnacle Bill is settling into foster life beautifully and it appears he has taken on a very important new job: BABYSITTER.
Barnacle Bill has appointed himself the baby’s official shadow, keeping a close eye on his tiny human roommate and making sure everything is under control.
Well… one eye on him. 😂
That’s how Barnacle Bill got his name, after all. But don’t let that fool you. This one-eyed Bulldog misses absolutely nothing. Especially when it comes to toddlers and snacks.
Bill adores the 2-year-old in the house, and the feeling seems to be mutual. Of course, having a toddler around comes with certain perks. Those toddlers are always snackin’. And dropping things.
Barnacle Bill is happy to handle quality control.
When he’s not on babysitting duty, Bill is the sweetest, funniest, most laid-back guy. He loves his naps, sleeps in when he can and has quickly figured out the household routine. He gets up, goes outside, eats breakfast and then heads straight back for his morning nap.
Because even professional babysitters need their rest.
He’s been the perfect houseguest and has fit right into family life. His foster family says he would make a wonderful addition to just about any family.
We think he’d be especially good at the important stuff:
Keeping babies company.
Supervising toddlers.
Cleaning up dropped snacks.
And making sure everyone gets plenty of naps. ❤️

8/16/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Barnacle Bill continues to settle into foster life beautifully, and this week he discovered something wonderful: TOYS!
We watched with huge smiles as he happily ran from one toy to the next, picking them up and showing off his playful side. It’s such a joy to see him feeling safe and comfortable enough to let his personality shine.
Barnacle Bill is the perfect combination of sleepy and playful. Most of the time, he’s a laid-back guy who loves lounging on the couch or stretching out on the cool floor. But after dinner, he occasionally gets a wild hair and decides it’s PLAYTIME! 😂
He continues to do wonderfully with the kids, although he hasn’t quite mastered the concept of personal space. He’s very generous with his kisses!
He loves treats, too, and has figured out how to communicate when he wants to go outside. If we don’t notice him waiting by the door, he’ll give us a little bark to let us know he’s ready. And when he’s ready to come back inside, he lets us know that, too!
We also discovered that Barnacle Bill is NOT a fan of pool floats. Apparently, they are suspicious and must be barked at. Otherwise, he’s a pretty quiet guy.
And then there’s that one little eye. Most days, we completely forget that Barnacle Bill only has one eye because it doesn’t slow him down one bit. If he bumps into something, he simply keeps going, like the determined little baby hippo he’s lovingly nicknamed around the house.
Barnacle Bill is showing us more and more of his sweet personality every day, and any family would be incredibly lucky to call this lovable, playful, easygoing boy their own.
10/28/26 UPDATE ~ We’re looking to match Barnacle Bill to a great family for him! From his foster momma: Barnacle Bill keeps us laughing every single day!
This boy is definitely NOT a morning guy. He loves to sleep in, often needing to be woken up around 9–10 a.m. for breakfast and a potty break. And once those morning duties are done? It’s right back to the couch for a little more beauty sleep!
But come evening, this sleepyhead comes ALIVE! LOL!
Barnacle Bill is also wonderful with our two young kiddos, making him an all-around delightful houseguest. Any family would be lucky to have this sweet, silly boy as part of their crew.
