Digby (now Wynstan)

Digby (now Wynstan)

From Digby (now Wynstan)… Ever since I came to rescue last October I heard the humans talk about other bulldogs finding their forever home and that I would find mine one day too! I wasn’t sure what that meant until today!! Today my dreams came true and my forever family came for me!! They drove all the way from Phoenix for ME!  My new mom held my face and looked at me and it was love at first sight! I’m super excited because not only do I have a new mom and dad but I have a fur sister named Ellie!!! We are gonna play so much I can’t wait! Thank you LSBCR for taking such good care of me especially Dr. Larsen and the wonderful staff at Bright Star and Dr. Lay for fixing my ACL and for the fosters that looked after me and gave me so much love. Here are some pics of me with my new mom and fur sister…don’t we look cute together!

Hello all!  Digby here!  A strange thing happened to me. I got lost and no one came looking for me. Every day my shelter friend told me “I bet today is the day your family comes and finds you!” Every day I waited; actually I waited 14 days. I waited and I watched out the window.

Surely at 1 year old someone was missing me. I am super cute, super small and the life of the party. But look at my eyes, they are beautiful. My fur is soft and my ears look great. My lady friend at the shelter posted me all over social media thinking surely someone on social media would say “Hey that’s my bulldog!” But nope, no one did. And this is a smaller Texas town where I was picked up.

Finally after 14 days me and my shelter friend decided enough is enough and she called rescue. I am super happy now and my next family will keep a really close eye on me so I don’t get lost or stolen. I love other dogs, never met a stranger, and in a few weeks you are going to see me adopted by my new family. It will be them and me.  Love Digby

1/3/22 Update:  It sounds like my foster mom came to your little party and told everyone about my uncontrollable lady (or anyone, really)-chasing habit.

I’d like to report that I’m doing much better. I’ve realized that not everyone likes to be jumped on from behind while I have my way with them. The cat let me know it was super unacceptable as well.

Anyhow… I’m getting along with everyone here. I like to roll around with a visitor puppy and she thinks I’m super fun too.

I decided to mark the inside of the back door the other day (twice), so I quickly learned that the door does not belong to me but to the queen human of the house.

I take direction well… even though I like to have it repeated a few times.

I love to play with a big red ball that has a handle and I prefer to be outside if the weather is nice.

I’m looking for an active home with a patient human, as I’m still working on my Bulldog manners.

Love (no humps),  Digby

1/13/22 Update:  Hi Everyone!

It’s me, Digby!  I thought I’d send a photo of me by the fireplace, relaxing. This is important because it took me about 4 weeks to be this calm. My foster humans are so proud!

I’m still doing great at the farm and my manners get better and better!

I’ve decided I love to run the fence with the neighbor dog. I get lots of exercise that way and also I practice barking like I’m a guard dog.

I’m ready for my forever. I know I’ll be a great addition to my new family.

1/21/22 Update:   This boy is doing great here! It’s taken a bit to get him to relax, but he’s more of a gentleman each day. He loves to lay in the sun and prefers a couch, if available. This boy is super active and always up for adventure. He’s only decided to relax by the fire inside in the last week and we are so excited about that.

This guy is looking for an active, patient forever family. Small kids may get knocked over, but he’ll apologize with kisses after that.

2/28/22 Update:  I checked into my new foster home this morning. I’m enjoying what Foster Mom calls a nice, chillaxed Sunday.

From what I have gathered so far, that means going for a walk around the park, lounging and snuggles on the sofa by the fire, going outside in the backyard, looking at nature and soaking in the sunshine with my fur sister, naps on different soft beds around the house and lastly, getting treats while she is cooking. In fact, I discovered a new treat that I really like called zucchini.

If you are looking for a good boy who loves snuggles, walks and kisses, I may be your guy!

3/7/22 Update:   I had a great week in my new foster home! I have been lounging out on the back patio, playing with my toys.

I have been hanging out with my foster fur sister. I let her have her space though because I don’t think she likes me very much because this was her house first.

I like to snuggle on the sofa with my foster mom and I LOVE to give kisses.

Foster mom says I’m really smart. In fact, I learned a new trick this week. There are bells on the back door so the other dog who lives here can let the humans know when he needs to go out to potty. Well, guess what? I started to ding them when I need to go out too! I also haven’t had any accidents in the house, so I get lots of praise for that.

I’m a really good boy, just looking for my very own human who will love me as much as I love them.

3/14/22 Update:  I had so much fun this weekend! My foster momma had a friend visiting and she brought her French Bulldog. We are now BFFs.

Other than that, I just enjoyed the beautiful weather!

3/22/22 Update:  Happy Sunday!

I am enjoying this beautiful spring weather with my new ball. I’ve had lots of fun this week, just hangin’ out playing, eating and snuggling my favorite things!

3/30/22 Update:  My foster mom says I am so stinking cute and that I look like I have a “Batman” mask on my face…. but I don’t know what that is? Can you see it?

4/26/22 Update:  Digby went for a visit with Dr. Lay this week. Digby loved the belly rubs and kisses he got while he was there.

Unfortunately, Dr. Lay confirmed he has a torn ACL and luxating patella on his right rear leg. The muscles on that leg are also noticeably weaker and somewhat atrophied. Surgery will be scheduled.

4/28/22 Update:   I had my ACL and MPL surgery yesterday with Dr. Lay and I’m happy to report that it was a success!

I had a laser treatment at Bright Star and now I’m back in my foster home being pampered. I’ll keep you all posted on my recovery over the next few months.

5/2/22 Update:   My foster mom says I’m such a good recovery patient.

I walk around when she asks, so I can exercise my leg. I sit patiently on my ice pack to help with the swelling and I like to take naps and rest because I’m not supposed to be running around and getting excited.

I also have learned that I love to be hand fed…what a treat! I also found out that I really, really like chicken, but I DO NOT like scrambled eggs (yuck!).

Anyhow, I’m going to see if I can give mom sweet eyes so I can get her to give me some more kisses.

5/11/22 Update:  I am just checking in to let you all know that I am doing really well! My leg is feeling a lot better since my ACL/MPL surgery. I still have a while to go before I’m fully healed, but until then, I’m just hanging out and enjoying all the love, treats and new toys I can get. Speaking of new toys, I need to go play with my new blue octopus toy.

5/25/22 Update:  Digby is enjoying the very nice Texas weather we’re having. We’ve dubbed the tree in the middle of our yard, “Digby’s Thinking Tree”. He seems to end up there every time to enjoy his outside time.
