4/16/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Caramilk to our rescue family.
When a local animal services team received a call about a Bulldog abandoned in an apartment building, they didn’t hesitate ~ they responded immediately. Calls like these can go many different ways, and there’s always a sense of uncertainty walking into the unknown.
What they found, though, was something unexpected: a happy, resilient girl who, despite everything, still greeted them with a wag and a wiggle.
We’re told Caramilk had been left behind for three days without food or water after her family was evicted. While we may never understand how anyone could make that choice, it’s clear that at some point in her life, she was cared for and loved. Her previous owners are currently under investigation, and we remain hopeful for accountability.
Through it all, Caramilk’s spirit has not dimmed. She is full of joy and her signature wiggle is guaranteed to make you smile.
You may notice that Caramilk is a little on the “extra” side. We prefer to call her perfectly plush. We’ll be helping her get to a healthier weight so she can feel her absolute best.
She has likely had a litter or two in the past, but those days are behind her. She will soon be spayed and aside from needing some dental care, she appears to be in good overall health.
At around 4 years old and 59 pounds, Caramilk is ready for a fresh start… a second chance filled with love, stability and a family who will never leave her behind again.
Ready to make a difference in the Dallas/Fort Worth area? Consider becoming a temporary foster for our program. You’ll play a vital role in helping dogs like Caramilk get the fresh start they so desperately deserve. Message us to learn more.
5/11/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Caramilk is doing wonderfully in her foster home and has quite the personality!
While she isn’t particularly submissive, she does get along well with all the other pups. She’s a social, curious girl who loves being involved in everything. She has absolutely no boundaries and is always in everyone’s business! This can occasionally cause a little tension with more particular dogs, but Caramilk stays happy and carefree no matter what.
She’s not a fan of being kenneled or separated from her people. If you’re home, she fully expects to keep an eye on you at all times.
Caramilk is also quite the talker (one of the most vocal pups around) and she won’t hesitate to let you know when she’s unhappy. As long as she can see you, though, she’s perfectly content.
Caramilk loves toys and is great at entertaining herself. She’s happy to sit next to you and keep busy chewing or playing while staying close to her favorite humans.
She recently visited the vet and received a clean bill of health. Caramilk is scheduled for her spay and dental in mid-June and will be ready for her next home shortly after.
Caramilk would do best with someone who appreciates a social, expressive and affectionate dog who always wants to be part of the action.

7/27/26 UPDATE ~ From her foster momma: Caramilk is ready for her forever family!
Caramilk is as sweet as her name and has enough love to last a lifetime! She is incredibly affectionate… a 100% Velcro Bulldog. She wants to be by your side every second of the day.
She is house-trained, does well out in public and loves meeting new people. She’s so excited to make friends that she sometimes forgets not every dog shares her enthusiasm. Caramilk is also quite the chatterbox. If she wants her toy, wants attention or thinks you’re sitting just a little too far away, she’ll be sure to let you know!
Caramilk is ready to be the glue to someone’s sticker, the peanut butter to their jelly and the cheese to their macaroni. She’ll love them with her whole heart, happily follow them from room to room, and be their loyal shadow for as long as her little Bulldog legs can carry her.
8/16/26 UPDATE ~ Foster girl Caramilk here, reporting from my new digs at Chez Maison Ménard BBnB!
My former foster momma, Sonia, cares for many Bulldogs, so when a spot opened up, I promptly pressed my paw on the “Take Me” button. Today I moved in and for now, I am the ONLY Bulldog in residence. Others will be joining me soon, but until then… I RULE THE REALM.
Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue has been a lifesaver—literally—and I’m grateful to every person who has helped me along the way.
The bipeds have mentioned that I’m “not quite bikini ready.” Apparently, I have some lovely curves! 😂 I’ll be eating a little less of my homemade, human-grade food because it’s more nutritionally dense, but I’m told I’ll be feeling my best in no time. So many exciting changes ahead!
Today, Foster Mom went to lunch with a friend, so Foster Dad and I had some one-on-one bonding time. I decided to stand guard outside his office. I may LOOK like I’m sleeping, but don’t be fooled. I barked when I heard another dog on TV. A girl has to stay vigilant!
And in just a few short hours, I have apparently decided that Foster Dad is MY person.
I also experienced my first Bulldog Happy Hour, and let me just say… YUM. I could definitely get used to this!
Then I found the toy box. Friends, it was love at first sight. I played ball, chewed squeaky toys and chased anything that moved. Foster Dad says he’s missed having a Bulldog playmate, so apparently the rodeo is ON!
When Foster Dad was working in his office, I made myself comfortable on the loveseat. I’m settling in quite nicely, thank you very much.
As for bedtime… Sonia told my foster new peeps that I sleep in her bedroom. But Foster Dad doesn’t know yet that I have my sights set on the doggy dormitory tonight. 😉 Stay tuned!
My new foster peeps say I probably won’t be hanging around this popsicle stand long enough to melt. And somehow, I have a feeling they might be right.
8/17/26 UPDATE ~ Caramilk has already stolen her foster dad’s heart! Not only does Caramilk have a new playmate, but she’s also found her favorite spot for afternoon naps… right beside her foster dad in bed!
He even told some of our recent adoptive families that he has a new girl in his life. And then Caramilk gave him baby kisses. He said, “What a PRECIOUS GIFT!”
Her foster momma said it may take surgery to remove the smile from the foster pops’ face.
And as if that wasn’t enough to seal the deal, Caramilk pushed the ball toward him, asking him to play. His final verdict?
“Dang, I have fallen in love.” ![]()
Caramilk is pretty darn good at making people fall for her.
9/1/26 UPDATE ~ From Caramilk: Foster life suits me just fine for now, but what I really crave is a family of my very own.
I’m a bit of a Velcro dog, sticking close to Foster Mom and happily matching her pace throughout the day. When she’s busy, I’m perfectly content to entertain myself with my toys. I’m an enthusiastic little player and have been known to dive right into the toy box with both feet!
I’m also quite fond of Foster Dad, especially around mealtime! He has a soft spot for us Bulldogs and serves up some pretty fabulous appetizers. Cold cuts, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, fruit…whatever happens to be on the menu, I’m happy to be part of the culinary experience.
I really do love my toys and would be thrilled to have someone who enjoys playing as much as I do. Think kids might like playing with me? I might even wear them out!
At night, I sleep in the doggy dormitory, although I occasionally score a spot in Foster Dad’s bed when I’m lucky. I always do my business outside, get along well with the other Bulldogs and absolutely soak up all the evening attention and affection I can get.
Life in foster care has been good to me, but I’m ready for the best part of the journey: finding my next family.
Ciao, ciao, for now!
9/7/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Caramilk: I moved into Chez Maison Ménard B&B three weeks ago, so technically my acclimation period has officially elapsed. But between you and me, it took about three hours, not three weeks!
When Auntie Sonia delivered me, she assured everyone that these peeps and I would bond quickly. If napping in Foster Dad’s bed on my very first afternoon is any indication, I’d say the success bell has officially pealed!
My favorite is definitely Foster Mom. Every night, we cuddle on the sofa. I squeeze myself right up against her to make sure she understands that we’re like peanut butter and jelly. She strokes my fur affectionately, and I simply soak up every ounce of love. This whole giving-and-getting-love thing works for me in ways I never knew existed.
Foster Dad seems just a tiny bit jealous, so I make sure to balance things out. I sleep with him every night in the Doggy Dormitory. We have a very equitable arrangement around here. They alternate feeding me my AM and PM meals, but Foster Dad has the honor of preparing and serving Bulldog Happy Hour.
I have also completely overcome my wanderlust! Previously, if I spotted an opening at the front door, I would make a beeline for it and bolt off to explore the great outdoors. These days, I’ve come to an important realization:
Everything a Bulldog could possibly want is already inside these walls.
I’m comfortable no matter the weather, secure, safe from harm, surrounded by love, and, most importantly, WELL FED!
Foster Dad makes our dog food himself, and the ingredients are made up of things you bipeds eat, too. You could practically eat from my bowl! With all the concerns about fowl, we stick to bovine and ovine proteins around here.
Can you spell UHM UHM GOOD?!
And don’t worry… be happy! My foster peeps will make sure I have enough food to gradually transition me back to high-end kibble when my next family adopts me.
Adoption upsides:
♥ Extreme lover. I will happily accept all available cuddles and affection.
♥ Extreme player. Any game. Any audience. Any toy. I’m in!
I may be especially wonderful with kids and teenagers.
♥ Never an inside accident.
♥ Get along with other dogs.
♥ And apparently, I have mastered the art of making my foster family fall completely in love with me.
Adoption downsides:
♥ None. Zero. Nada. I have checked.
Ciao for niao!
Love,
Caramilk
9/10/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Caramilk: Yo, all of yous in da Bulldog sphere!
I have recently been informed that I have officially ascended to royalty. Honestly, I’m not sure what took everyone so long. I mean, have you met me?
Allow me to share a few highlights from my reign here at Foster Manor.
First, there’s my impressive talent as a ball player.
Most dogs cannot catch a ball rebounding off a vertical surface. But me? I possess the baseball instincts of Carl Yastrzemski fielding a carom off the Green Monster at Fenway.
I catch that ball on the fly, race it back to the infield, and deliver it so you can throw it again.
And again.
And again.
I consider this an important public service.
I’m also quite accomplished in the area of affection.
If I decide it’s time for attention and you do not respond immediately, I will gently nudge you until you remember your responsibilities.
Stroke me. Rub my belly. Let me nap against you on the sofa while we watch TV.
See? I’m very easy to please.
When I’m ready to play, you’ll know it. My favorite position is forepaws down, doggy butt up.
You humans call it a “play bow.”
I call it, “HEY! WE’RE DOING SOMETHING FUN NOW!”
I’m also something of a toy connoisseur. I love toys of all types, but rolly and bouncy toys are especially entertaining.
Add a squeaker and things get serious.
Then there’s my inquisitive nature.
Some might call me curious. I prefer “thoroughly investigative.”
No open closet, cabinet, or storage nook goes unexplored.
My curiosity has already triggered a DVD, changed the fan speed on the car A/C, and shifted the transmission gears.
I’m just saying… I like to know how things work.
I also have what Foster Dad calls a “heuristic nature,” which apparently means I’m a problem-solver.
For example, I have determined that I prefer a Fig Newton to Isaac Newton.
My findings are conclusive.
And I’m happy to report that I get along beautifully with other Bulldogs.
My new roomie is a former foster here who knows her way around the place. We’ve got a pretty good arrangement.
She knows the house.
I know how to have fun.
And when the day is done, we both get to sleep in the big bed with Foster Dad.
Not too shabby for a couple of Bulldogs.
So that’s the latest from my corner of the kingdom.
I’m keeping busy, supervising the household, conducting important scientific research, playing ball, investigating suspicious cabinets and generally making sure everyone knows exactly where I am.
In other words…
I’m doing Caramilk things.
Ciao ciao, for now!
10/7/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Caramilk: I’ve now been in my foster home for five weeks, and I’m happy to report that my acclimation is proceeding ahead of schedule. I’ve earned full run-of-the-house privileges, bonded with both of my foster parents, and I even sleep in Foster Dad’s bed in the doggy dormitory. Life is good!
I’m also quite helpful around the house. I’m always eager to assist with making the bed. Somebody is going to adopt me because I can do chores! I mean, who wouldn’t want a Bulldog who helps with the laundry? 😉
I’m getting a new fur roommate today! I hope she likes to play ball. I got along great with my last roommate, so I’m already an experienced roommate and certified ball-play buddy. I’m good with other dogs.
Stay tuned for more Caramilk pupdates. I have a feeling there’s lots more fun to come!
