My savior from rescue came and picked me up from the shelter today. I was so happy to leave that place! I’m said to be 1 year and 1 month old and up to this point, my life hasn’t been that good.
As you can see, I have some skin issues and have been neglected. I had thick poop and dirt caked on my body. I weigh 27 lbs and you can see my ribs.
The lady who picked me up said I wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore. She said I would get a nice bath and all the food I could eat… How exciting!
When the rescue wagon dropped me off at my new foster home, I got too excited and pooped in my crate before I got out of the car.
As soon as I walked through the door, I scoped things out and there was a bowl of food there waiting for me!
I gobbled it up and they gave me another whole bowl all for me.
I got a nice double bath… you should have seen that water. It was so dirty! I don’t think I’ve ever had a bath before. I was shaking like a leaf, but the nice lady let me give her kisses while she bathed me, so it made me feel a little less scared.
She said I’m going to need lots more baths, so I think I’ll get used to it.
I also had my ears cleaned and we played with toys and I got lots of cuddles. This is the life!
I will go visit with the lovely Dr. Larsen soon. She can have a look at me and get me all fixed up, including getting my boy parts taken care of.
8/12/22 Update: Emmett Smith is settling in here with his foster buddy Sir S’mores A lot. His hair is starting to grow back already. His other medicines are helping him feel better. He’s getting ALL the extra cookies and love. He’s definitely not an “only.” He really needs to be in the room where his people and friends are. He has the best personality. Emmett is all about the play and has earned himself a big nap!
