Georgie

Georgie

Well family, all great things must come to an end and my stay in rescue has come to end.  Thursday was my adoption day and now I live in a home on a hill.  My new home is high on a hill and I can see for miles and miles and miles. I have a Mom and a Dad, and a fur sister named Laya. My Dad is a pilot and he was off flying but my new Grandad came down from Nebraska to meet me.

Some things changed and some things stayed the same. My surrendering Mom was amazing, and she loved me so much. And now I have a new Mom and she has the same kind of love. My new mom told me how much she loved me and everything we were going to do together.  My new family has horses, and they are coming down soon from Nebraska.  And I can hardly wait to get to go horseback riding. I will be checking in from time to time from the country life and my life on the farm is just amazing to me.  Love rescue forever, Georgie

Tears fell like rain today, from the woman who surrendered Georgie … and from me. This surrender was a heartbreak and it certainly wasn’t Georgie’s fault. He did nothing wrong. Unfortunately, the woman’s husband just wasn’t a fan. And when you’re married to a man who doesn’t like having a dog or dog hair in the house, I guess someone must go. Today, it was Georgie.
Georgie has always gone to the vet and has been well taken care of throughout his 16 months of life. He lived with two small kids, but due to the fact he was a dog and did shed, he spent most of his time in a crate.
Life is not fair sometimes and choices are hard, but we’re sad Georgie paid the price. We’re glad, however, that we will have the opportunity to find him a family who will love him beyond belief. Even if he happens to shed.
Georgie’s mom wanted everyone to know she surrendered him out of love. She truly hoped he would find a family who will adore him as much as she does. Georgie’s favorite things are food, fur friends and family.
