I have been adopted! Here I am with my new furever family celebrating Christmas by the fire with my new fur-sister & 2 human brothers! I am so happy. I have the best parents ever, a big backyard and neighborhood I can’t wait to explore in! They even gave me a bed to snuggle in. A Christmas miracle!
Yes, in some of these pics, I’m actually sitting in the snow … and I am not a fan of the snow! Maybe you’ve heard the term, “Snowbird.” You know, someone who migrates from the colder northern parts to the warmer parts during winter. Well, that’s me! I migrated south today.
I had a reputation of being “the man around town.” That’s right, in my small town, I wandered around all day. I stayed here and I stayed there, but never anywhere very long.
One family wanted to keep me, but did not like how my ears looked. That hurt my feelings because I had nothing to do with someone cropping them, and actually, it hurt a lot.
The family knew where I was most of the time, but they got mad at me for killing their chickens and told me to “hit the road.” So, I did.
My next family was different. They were wonderful and opened the door to let me come inside. That’s what I am talking about ~ INSIDE! But wouldn’t you know it … their dog did not like me. There I was, finally inside, and there was a problem! However, it was my lucky day because this family follows Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue online. They contacted rescue and asked for help.
Today, a rescue volunteer, Elizabeth, drove up here slipping and sliding all the way to get me. Elizabeth already loves me ~ she told me so! I can hardly wait for Dr. Larsen and the ladies at the clinic to meet me. They are going to love me, too.
11/30/20 Update: Foster boy Houdini reminds us a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. He also believes he’s a stud magnet…. so magnetism is our theme, apparently. Thanksgiving week is off to a great start. Look, I made a friend! My foster mom says I’m very patient and I’m one of the best snugglers she’s ever known. I like walks and I can even jog most of the way. Do you have a big yard? I’d like that very much. Lots of room to run and play and fetch and snuggle and well… you know the rest!
Lone Star Bulldog Club and Bulldog Rescue are in compliance with and support the Texas Health and Safety Code chapter 828 .002; which states EVERY dog rescued under our umbrella, either from a shelter, Rescue Society or private sources, will be spayed or neutered. Bulldogs are typically affectionate and friendly, and the Network will not knowingly place a dog with an unsound temperament. However, no one can predict how any dog will react in a given situation without complete knowledge of its life experiences before its rescue. Therefore, adopters are strongly urged to exercise prudence and caution in introducing an adopted Bulldog into a new situation until the dog has become fully adjusted to its new environment and the adopter has had an opportunity to become familiar with the dog’s unique personality. Lone Star Bulldog Club and Bulldog Rescue Network make no claims, representations, or warranties regarding the temperament, behavior, or future health of any rescued Bulldog.
