Jax Daniel

Jax Daniel

Jax Daniel made the trip to Waco and then onto San Antonio with furever mom Lindsay and furever dad Clayton. The meet went very well and no fires were started that firefighter dad had to put out!

Jax had no problem loading up and heading south an hour and a half later. The fact that he was going to be the youngest (but biggest) of his two instant brothers was a plus! Brothers, Boomer and Obi, seemed very accepting with the newest family member and were already sharing their water with him! Jax will be the best brother and son a family could ask for.

I was sitting around thinking there is fixing to be a big celebration because it’s almost July 4th… so what a perfect time for me to join in the celebration. So here I am, and everyone can celebrate my arrival in rescue too!

My name is Jax Daniel and I am 5 years old. No sad stories for me ~ I have always had a family who loved me and took great care of me, but due to some lifestyle changes, I thought it was best for me to find a family that is Bulldog savvy and can help me with my skin problems.

Sad to say my skin has been an ongoing challenge. Hair loss, hot spots, skin infections and a red tail area. They get better, then they get bad again. Today, my tail is red and infected. I need regular Bulldog maintenance, medicated baths, and a whole lot of holding. YES, I love to be held. Don’t let my size fool you. Big guys need holding also.

I have already had eye surgery and I have eye drops that I take daily. It helps a lot with my dry eyes.

I joined rescue with an entire cart full on my things: two big beds, shampoos, dog food, snacks and treats. I came prepared. I brought my own, just in case my foster family didn’t have any.

I love other dogs, but I’m not sure about cats. I have a lot of energy and I know how to play ball. I can fetch and bring it  back to you.

If you’re looking for a big hunk of Bulldog love, remember me. I am not maintenance-free, for sure, but I am worth my weight in gold. The family who gets matched to me will have a best friend for life.

7/19/22 Update:  Jax Daniel was singing in the tune of Sheryl Crow “I wanna soak up the sun….” But then we remembered he is a Bulldog and we brought him inside less than two minutes later.

July 29/22 Update:  Jax Daniel is full of gratitude for the amazing hospitality he received from his foster uncle Jeremy and his foster aunt Jenee while Foster Dad was away for the week.

He had the pleasure of hanging out with Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue alumnus foster boy Figgy and company. Minus an argument over, what else, a tennis ball, he did amazing with them. We found out that he has no problems going up and down stairs, despite what people think of his physique and he loves water. He really wanted to jump in the pool and join uncle Jeremy, but sadly (and fortunately) didn’t have the opportunity to do so. We need to first add a life jacket to his wish list!
