Jiggs

Jiggs

Yesterday started with the sad, sad news. The loss of my former foster Jiggs. His adoptive family is heartbroken. This family has the heart of gold. They adopted a senior and gave him a life of adventure and friendship. In his short time with them he became the jujitsu studios mascot. He was the official greeter and babysitter. He went everywhere with his dad. My heart is broken for them, and also so thankful to them for giving this handsome senior boy the best last days ever.

Let’s all celebrate Jiggs, the sweetest boy ever!

Somethings are just meant to be. Jiggs has been adopted by the most perfect family. It was love at first sight for them.

He’ll not only have a mom, dad and sister, he’ll also have a job.

Jiggs was named after the first United States Marine Corps Bulldog mascot. Now, he’ll be the mascot for his dad’s jiu-jitsu academy. He has a whole village waiting to love him once he arrives.

And arriving in style is what he’ll do. He hopped aboard his Bulldog limo and didn’t look back.

Safe travels, Jiggs. We love you.

My mom, dad and I have been practicing for this day because we knew it was coming. But no practicing helped when we said our goodbyes. Tears flowed like rain.

My family is going overseas for a long period of time and I’m not a traveling fella. My traveling consists of going outside two times a day, then back inside and just walking around the house at my leisure.

I’m the fourth Bulldog my family has owned. I must say I feel like I was the best, and the cutest for sure.

My mom is a Marine veteran and I was named after the first Bulldog mascot of the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Jiggs. I do believe I am much cuter than the original. In fact, I know that because everywhere I go people tell me I am the cutest Bulldog they have ever seen. I am just about at celebrity status.

If I listed all the facts about me, you would get tired of reading. I can do A LOT of things. Bad habits? I have none.  When you stop paying me attention, I gently raise my paw and remind you, “Hey, I am down here. Show me some love!”

My family typed out a few pages about me and those pages will go with me when I am adopted: my health and beauty secrets, how much I eat, what I do during the day and about 25 other things my new family will need to know!

The most important thing to know though is that I have been loved every day of my life. All 9 years of it. I love people of all sizes and all other dogs. I have never met a stranger. I will come with A LOT of my things, and to know me is to love me. I am that kind of fella!

8/6/22 Update:  Jiggs here. I moved into my bachelor pad earlier this week. Being in a house full of bulldog dudes it took no time at all for us to plan Saturday night poker games, all day naps and pizza deliveries.  The cleaning lady is pretty cool. We even let her chill with us.

Jiggs is the perfect gentleman. House trained, nap trained, not a problem in any department.
