Josie Blu wants everyone to know that she got the best Christmas present a Bulldog could ask for…a forever family!
Josie joins the resident Bulldog, Junior, to round out her new family in Frisco, just in time to celebrate the holidays. Foster Mom couldn’t be happier for this sweet Bulldog and this wonderful family!
Josie has come a long way in her four months with her foster family. She learned to trust the other pups and humans in her home and to let her sweet, loving personality shine through.
Josie spent her first few weeks in foster care running to her crate and giving the other pups a little back-off growl. After lots of love, hugs, pets and kisses, Josie came to realize she was in a safe place with dogs that would not harm her.
She now greets you at the door with booty wiggles and loves to lay her head on your shoulder while curled up on the couch watching TV. Have you ever met a Bulldog that doesn’t drool or snore? Well, neither have we until Josie Blu! She couldn’t get any more perfect!
Congratulations, sweet Josie, on finding your forever family. We look forward to seeing what new adventures await you!
Well, it happened again, and this time was bad.
My fur friends who have lived with me for two years attacked me for no reason. It came out of the blue. No warning signs. And this time there was three of them! My mom had to get 2″ x 4″ piece of wood to pry a mouth off my leg. I really thought I was going to die.
In the fight, I about lost an ear. I have a deep puncture in my front leg and the inside of my back leg is a mess. My mom tried to lift me into the bathtub, but I started screaming so she stopped.
Two years ago, I joined the most amazing family. My mom was a dog rescuer herself. I was in bad shape from had been a momma dog. My teeth are all ground down. But my mom got me in great shape. She had me spayed and was teaching me how to be part of a family.
My mom was so upset because she loved me so much. However, Sunday was the last straw. My mom, being a rescuer, was very serious about keeping me and everyone safe. She felt like she had let me down and that she had failed me.
Because of her love for me, she called Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue and in the pouring rain on Sunday, we said our goodbyes .
I am headed to sit with Dr. Larsen and she is going to help me feel better. I have already talked to my former mom this morning and, in two weeks, she is going to come visit me, so let the healing begin .
From this day forward, no one will ever jump on me again. I have no way to defend myself, nor do I have the desire to fight. I’m a lover, not a fighter.
8/19/21 Update: Hi Rescue friends, Josie checking in. I have been in my foster home almost a week now and I am slowly coming out of my shell. My favorite things to do are shake and snuggle with human foster family. Foster mom is so impressed that I am 100% potty trained. I only like going outside to do by business, an occasional scratch in the grass, then I am heading right back in. So, it’s not super important that my forever family has a big yard, because I am a house dog. I am still getting comfortable with the other pups in my foster home. Even though they are smaller than me, I am not interested in making friends with them yet. Right now, I am happiest and more like myself when I get some alone time with my foster mom. I will gladly snuggle with my humans on the couch, the bed, or on a puppy bed by your feet. I don’t even snore that much for a Bulldog. I’ll keep you all updated on how it’s going, so stay tuned!

9/5/21 Update: My foster family likes to call me Josie Bear because I am as snuggly as a teddy bear.
I have become super comfortable in my new digs and I like to nap just about everywhere. I have three fur siblings in the home and I am much more comfortable around them now. I even join in on a brief game of “bitey face” every now and then.
I am a quiet, laid-back, low-maintenance type of gal. I only want to go potty 2-3 times a day. I love to snuggle next to my humans all day and all night. I don’t bark much, I don’t make a mess and I am 100% potty trained. Did I mention I never drool and rarely snore?
I am basically a perfect companion in every way. If you are looking for a cuddle bug that doesn’t need a lot of entertainment and doesn’t have to have other pets around, then I may be your gal!
10/12/21 Update: Josie Blu checking in to let everyone know I am doing fabulous in my foster home. I am finally comfortable with my foster sisters. I was a little hesitant around them the first few weeks because of what happened in my past, but I realize these gals are just fun and playful. My favorite new thing to do is greet my human family with my wiggle dance. I get really excited and shake my booty and dance around. I had a check up at the clinic last week. I was being tested for something called Cushing’s and turns out I don’t have it after all. Foster mom is just giving me some more supplements to help my coat. I have also been doing really good with baths, car rides and of course I get an A+ in snuggles and nap time.
