2/6/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Mick Jagger to our rescue family! He writes: Bulldog friends, on Wednesday I finally joined rescue. It was a long time coming.
For most of my life, my job on the farm was being a “baby daddy,” a role I took very seriously. But as the years passed and I was no longer needed, my purpose faded.
I was born on February 19, 2018, in London, England, which is how I came to be named Mick Jagger. Somehow, someone decided I should make my way to America, and through twists and turns I eventually ended up here.
I arrived with three generations of pedigree papers, along with records showing that I moved around quite a bit after coming to the U.S., passing through the hands of different breeders. But Wednesday marked the move I’ve been waiting for my entire life: my retirement move.
My skin is in rough shape. I carry colors that aren’t recognized in the Bulldog Standard. There may be some blue, lilac, fawn and black—and those genetics have left me with ongoing skin issues. I’ll need medical care, patience and understanding as I begin to heal.
I hope my age doesn’t stop someone from seeing the dog I still am, especially once my medical needs are addressed. I’ve never known what it’s like to live inside a home, to be part of a real family who loves me simply for being me. I can’t help but imagine how amazing that life could be.
For the first time, my future feels full of possibility. And I’m ready for whatever comes next.
