Ojeah

Ojeah

After 9 months in rescue, I wasn’t sure if this day would come. Foster Mom was giving me extra special attention this week and she finally told me why! A wonderful man wanted to take me home and keep me forever.
Foster Mom said he has a couple acres, flies planes (that I get to ride in), and has an extra seat for me on the four wheeler! I get to be the only dog and I’m 100% ready to soak up all that love an attention for myself!
I packed my bags (yes, there were multiple) and went on a road trip to Louisiana to be with my new dad at my forever home! Such an exciting day for me!
Thank you, Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, for not giving up and finding me the best home I could ever ask for!
Ojeah to our rescue family! He writes: My name is pronounced Ohh-Jay, but I just have a fancy way of spelling it!
No sad stories for me. My family thought I needed a family that had more time to spend with me. It was hard on me when they got busy and their lives took them here, there and everywhere. And I got tired of being left behind.
I have always lived with other dogs and kids. I love kids! I loved all the other dogs too, but I definitely get along best with the ladies. So, my perfect family will have female dogs only.
I see a couple surgeries in my near future and then I will be looking through the applications for a family that can include me when they go for a walk, take a vacation, or go for a drive. Riding in the car is one of my favorite things to do. I can just see me riding in a convertible with my fur blowing in the wind!
9/21/20 Update:  I’m loving my time out of the clinic and thrilled to be in my foster home! Foster mom stopped at Bucee’s on our way home and I got to try some brisket, way better than dog food. I got along great with all my foster sisters instantly and I can’t wait until they are ready to wrestle and snuggle with me. I still have a lot to learn, I know my name but that’s about it. I’ve already been caught jumping on the coffee table so I need to learn where I can be and where I cannot be. Personal space? What’s that? I want to be on you and licking you ALL the time, so foster mom and dad have to set some boundaries. Couch life is the best. I’ll check in later to let you know how things are going!

10/2/20 Update: I’m settling in great in my foster home. Foster Mom says I’m your picture perfect Bulldog! I haven’t had one accident inside and I can be trusted to free roam when no one is home.

Here are some things I’ve come to love: blueberries, fleece blankets, bell peppers, country music, sleeping in, peanut butter and “walks” in my stroller.
Here are some things I’m still learning: Bulldogs don’t belong on the coffee table, there’s no such thing as a last meal, there’s enough toys to go around, the hose is not my enemy, Foster Mom and Dad need some personal space, and getting my wrinkles cleaned is not torture.
Foster Mom bought me a pumpkin sweater for Halloween, but she said my forever family might scoop me up before the holiday. Could that be you?

10/8/20 Update: Foster Mom and Foster Dad have really gotten to know me since I left the vet clinic. I’ve gotten so comfortable with my foster siblings and my personality is shining bright!

Here is how I imagine my ideal forever home:
It should be stocked with lots and lots of fruits for snacks. I LOVE blueberries, bananas and strawberries.
While I’m sure kids think I’m cute, I probably shouldn’t live with anyone under the age of 10. I don’t share toys easily. I also still know nothing about personal space and don’t want anyone to get knocked over.
I would love for my people to be home way more often than not ~ I don’t like being left behind. If you have to go, please take me with you! I’m an angel in the car and will be the first one to jump in the backseat.
I’m great on my leash and in my harness. While I like to walk, I don’t make it too far. I would really enjoy a family with a stroller or wagon (though not a deal breaker).
I would be great with female-only k-9 siblings, as long as Mom and Dad enforce strict rules and routines, but I would be more than happy soaking up all the attention myself. No small animals in the house for me. I love a game of chase and don’t want anyone to get hurt.
Lastly, I would really love an invitation to sleep in bed with you. I’m a snuggler and want to be as close to my people as I can. BUT if there’s really no room, I’m happy to sleep in a dog bed on the floor or in my crate.
Now that you know the kind of forever home I want, send in those applications! You may be my perfect match. Until then, I’ll keep you updated on all my “firsts” and adventures in my foster home to make you all fall even more in love with what a perfect boy I am! Catch ya next week!
