Pearl

Pearl

Great News! Miss Pearl has been adopted by a very special family. Story and picture to follow!

Adopted in 2017, Pearl was returned to rescue this week, with her beautiful and mesmerizing eyes!
Her parents worked with a behaviorist, visited their vet and tried medication to help her handle other dogs, but they were still having some challenges. The family decided it would be best to return her to rescue. They knew we can find her a home where she can be the center of attention and not have to share her family with other dogs.
She will spend a few days at the vet clinic to ensure there are no medical problems that are contributing to the behavior. Our behaviorist will also evaluate her and work with her. She is still such a cuddle bug and sweetheart toward people.

Pearl has been adopted! She writes: Remember when I told you all that I might have met my new family at Mutts Canine Cantina? Well, it turns out that I was right! They are former adopters and Foster Mom and Sis took me over to their house on Sunday to meet alum Capone (Maverick) who was adopted in March. Well, let me tell you: we had the best time playing and rolling around. I also met Rooney the Boxer. He is pretty tall and he was giving hugs to Foster Mom and Sis. After a few hours of playing, it was time to go, but I had a feeling I would be back. I was anxious all week waiting to hear if I was going to join their family. Foster Mom told me on Thursday the good news! Yesterday was the day I went to my furever home. Thank you, Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, for helping me find my happy place!

Welcome 14-month-old Pearl to rescue! This is a rare intake for rescue ~ she is a perfect dog with no health problems and she has been loved and cared for from birth. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, her family could no longer provide the care she needed. They did the best they could for her by letting her go and come to us. They want her to be in a healthy, happy home where all her needs will be met and where she will be loved as much as they loved her.

Her eyes are so big and bright, they will make your heart melt. When she wiggles her butt, half her body shakes and you will laugh for hours. She is dog- and kid-friendly. She is a big gal at 68 pounds. She must be big boned! But she wears it well and looks just perfect. She is off to the clinic for her checkup and spay. Someone will hit the Bulldog jackpot when they take this perfect girl home with them!

11/27/17 Update:  I have moved into my foster home with my foster bros and sis, Max, Laura and Eddie Grant. I have been settling in, checking out all the different sleeping places – even the forbidden one! (Max’s crate) and just playing. The weather has been so nice outside… I love running around and playing. I am 1 year old so I am still very much a puppy. Don’t get in my way because I may knock you over! I get along with everybullie and the Scottie in the house. I have been the perfect Bulldog: no accidents inside the house. Foster mom says I am the sweetest girl and my nickname is Pearly. So I hope you like my pics. I cannot wait to meet everyone at Mutts Canine Cantina on Saturday!

3/30/21 Update:  I had an awesome time at the Pizza Paw-ty last week at Campisi’s. There were so many Bulldogs and people there. I tried to say “Hi” to everybody. I got so many butt scratches and pets, I was just wiggling all over. I did get to eat some pizza that Foster Mom promised and it was good. I even “sat and gave paw.” It was a large pizza and I think I ate half of it! 🙂

After the event, we went by Buc-ee’s and I heard they had a wonderful dog area, so I had to try it out. I took a nap in the car on the way to take the foster grandkid back home. When we got to his house, I got to meet some chickens, a rabbit and some Aussie dogs. Foster sister said we could do a mini-photo shoot and I was all smiles. Foster Mom said I did so well at the event with the other Bulldogs, kids and people that she is sure a family of my own will come along soon.
4/3/21 Update:  Moving back into my foster home after three years was a small change, as there are some new faces here now. But I am getting to know every bully and Scottie. They kind of scare me a little, so I have not been hanging out with any of them. Foster Mom said we have to go slow.
I have managed to collect a few toys that I really like and I am always on the look out for any “stray” ones that are around the house. I am a really good girl and bark when I need to go outside. I am also good at helping in the garden.
Foster Mom bought me a new harness and leash. She said it is for a fresh start and there is no looking back… only forward! Please follow my journey to find my furever home.
5/10/21 Update:   Pearl enjoyed the cloudy day. She also had fun at the BoomerJack’s event last weekend. Eddie said she took some great pictures with the photographer. She continues to “find” new toys for her collection as she walks through the house.
5/21/21 Update:  I had a great week and was enjoying the pool the other day. I got to have my own floatie, but the green donut kept following me!

7/12/21 Update:  I am a bashful, fawny Bulldog still on the search for my forever home. Don’t get me wrong~ I love my foster parents, but I’m ready to blow this popsicle stand, if you know what I mean. 😉😇

How’s your summer been? Mine has been so much fun. I got to go swimming on the 4th of July! My first time was back in June. I thought my foster parents were giving me the ultimate water bowl, but as it turns out, they float around in this giant water bowl for fun. 😏 I can dig it.
My toy collection has also grown from the stuffies (which to be honest, I’m only in it for the squeaker~ don’t tell……) to this amazing giant Kong ball I’ve been rollin’ around with.
And guess what else? It’s exactly 40 days until my birthday. I’ll be 5! 🎉
Can’t wait until my next update, so I can tell you what I’ve been up to and let you guys know how the birthday plans are going.
And if my forever family is reading this, I can’t wait to meet you!
