Penelope Lovey Cruz

Penelope Lovey Cruz

Penelope Lovey Cruz has been adopted! This lucky girl found her perfect family, and she will loved and spoiled for the rest of her days. In addition to wonderful parents, she now has Chubbs, a big fur brother. Happy days ahead for all.

Hey everyone all I want to say is “Look at me now” to my cousin that thought he was the only one climbing in the rescue welcome wagon this morning.  That’s right all I have heard for 2 weeks was he was packing his bags and leaving the farm life behind. I kept thinking to myself you are not going anywhere with out ME!

Sure enough this morning at 10:00 the ladies where in the driveway and they where coming for Sullivan. Sullivan is my 9 month old cousin. He’s a big one, a little behind on manners, likes to love the ladies and always gets himself in trouble. So while they where talking to Sullivan I slipped out the front door, across the yard, and I hopped in the floorboard and stayed out of sight.  I am small so hiding was no problem for me.

On the farm were pigs, lama’s that spit, alpacas that stare, mean roosters, guinea that scream and cats that are into everything. So with Sullivan dancing around, the farm animals trying to see what was happening no one even noticed I was gone. And then it happened. My Mom started to cry. She kept telling  Sullivan to be a “good boy.”  She kept telling him to find a fabulous couch to lay on and to make some family so happy. Lord, I even thought I would cry.

But what I did do was sneeze and she looked over and saw me.  But with my feet firmly planted on the floor no way I was getting out.  Was it the fact the rescue wagon was circled by farm animals or the fact that my Mom was crying big tears I will never know.

But I got to leave the farm today too. There was more crying and more find a fabulous family and a lot of hugging.  But here I am, Penelope Lovey Cruz my first day in rescue!  I am here to make someone’s dreams come true.

10/1/21 Update:  Pretty little Penelope has been in this foster home for a couple of weeks. She is a timid girl, but she soon felt safe and started to interact with the resident bulldogs.  Playtime ends when exhaustion begins.

It has been fun to introduce her to new foods. She has been a kibble only girl and very skeptical of new foods. Now she is loving boiled chicken, canned dog food, chopped vegetables or pumpkin added to the kibble.

Penelope loves car rides.  On walks she stops at every parked car door hoping to get in. This gentle girl would love to cuddle, sit in your lap and follow you everywhere.
