Adopt a Bulldog

I decided to come back to rescue after being adopted in January. My family really loved me and I really loved them, but sometimes things just don’t work out.
I’m heading out to the vet clinic today to get a once over and then will be available for adoption again before you know it. Get your apps in and maybe you’ll be my perfect match. Great athletes like me get drafted quickly!
You could tell Peyton loved his new mom and sister as soon as they walked in the door. He will be the only thing with fur in the house and be very loved and spoiled. Peyton has a little more energy to burn, so he will get to go on nice long walks with his new family.
Peyton has been a joy to foster. He is such a clown and kept us laughing the whole time. We are so happy he now has his furever family and will get to start living his life how it should have been from the beginning.

I think it was on Thanksgiving Day when I decided I was ready to move from my current residence and find myself a new family. A new family and a new name. My old name was Rosco, but I thought I would like a new start in life so I renamed myself Peyton. I am a football fan and I love Peyton Manning.

I really can’t put my paw on what happened in my life, but I spent most of my days outside or in the garage. Outside was nice when the weather was nice, but I really wanted to be an inside Bulldog. Maybe my family wanted a Bulldog, but then they didn’t teach me inside rules and just gave up on me. I feel like I was smart enough to learn, but as I grew older, I was just left outside.

But then the best thing happened to me!

My family gave me to a friend who knew I was something special. She wanted me to find a fabulous family who would love me, let me live inside and take me everywhere they went. My new friend contacted rescue and here I am on the road to a fabulous new life. My friend was super sad to see me go. She hugged and kissed me, and told me she loved me.

Now, I will get a little surgery to stop that lovin’ feeling for the ladies and for people’s legs. And like I said, I am a smart fella and I will learn fast. I have been around other dogs, not cats though. I was around a small child who didn’t appreciate me or my desire to knock him over and have my way with him. So, maybe no small kids for me. I am on a weight-gain program, so the next time you see me, I’ll be (almost) brand new!

12/30/20 Update: Peyton moved into his foster home a few days ago and we’ve learned he is a sweet boy and very well behaved. He figured out the doggy door within minutes and is learning to potty outside. We had a couple of accidents, but we will blame that on first-day jitters and the rain.

Peyton is a very curious guy and likes to check out everything. He absolutely loves toys and entertains himself while foster momma works. He loves to throw them up in the air and chase them around.
We are working to put some weight on him, which looks like it won’t be an issue considering how much he loves food. More updates to come as we learn more about this boy!
1/15/21 Update:  Peyton is our in-home entertainment. This boy has us laughing all the time. He absolutely loves toys and will spend hours every day moving them around from room-to-room and throwing them up in the air to entertain himself.
Peyton tilts his head to the side when you talk to him, like he is really interested in what you are telling him. It is so adorable.
He loves bath time and even lifts his legs up for you to be able to clean under them. Peyton also loves to be outside and to take naps in the sun.
Peyton has brought some energy to this foster home, which is full of old grumpy boys.
This boy’s future family will be very lucky!
