10/15/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Renata Renee to our rescue family.
Renata Renee was up before daylight, waiting for transport to arrive and take her to a new life. After three years of being used for breeding, her freedom day had finally come.
Her owner surrendered her to the shelter, and she arrived without even a name. She apparently had spent her life producing puppies, and when another pregnancy could have cost her life, she was discarded.
At just 3 years old, Renata Renee is painfully underweight, almost a bag of bones. The shelter had her spayed and brought her vaccinations up to date, giving her a chance to begin again.
And what a precious girl she is. Quiet as a mouse, she found a dog bed and settled in as if she had no plans to move anytime soon. Her soulful eyes seem to ask, “Are you going to hurt me, or are you going to be kind to me?” ![]()
We’ve been telling Renata Renee all about Bull-O-Ween, and she’s ready to make her debut this Saturday, Oct. 17, in front of hundreds of people! But we suspect the most exciting part of her new life will be discovering what it means to have a family of her own… a family who loves her for who she is, not for what she can produce.
For the first time, Renata Renee has the chance to be more than a breeding dog. She gets to be somebody’s beloved companion, cherished family member and forever girl.
Welcome to your new beginning, Renata Renee. Your days of being used and discarded are behind you.
11/3/26 UPDATE ~ We’re looking for a great family for Renata Renee!
From her foster momma: Our sweet Renata Renee is growing and changing by the day!
From being as quiet as a mouse, huddled in the back of her crate, to now blasting through the house like a freight train in search of her foster dad, Renata has made incredible strides since coming home with us at Bull-O-Ween.
She’s become much less fearful of other dogs, although she’ll still need slow introductions and time to build trust. Once that trust is established, she’s happy to be part of the gang, with one very important rule: HER FOOD BOWL IS OFF LIMITS! We feed her in a separate room, but apparently our Chihuahua is both sneaky and fast. Ugh!
Renata Renee has officially become one of the foster crew and is learning all she can from her Chihuahua buddy, Norman. She’s even been accepted into an apprentice patrol position and now guards the front windows from anyone who dares to appear! 😉
She absolutely loves being petted and would happily accept affection ALL DAY LONG. If you stop, she’ll give you “the paw” as a gentle reminder to keep going. Unfortunately, foster mom has to work at some point, so Renata Renee’s second-favorite activity is napping. Getting all those pets is exhausting work, after all!
She is completely smitten with her foster dad and lets everyone know when she can’t find him. He’s now officially without privacy, including during bathroom breaks. LOL!
Sweet Renata Renee takes treats like a lady and has even learned to patiently wait her turn. She’s also very accepting of the resident cat, although that may have something to do with the fact that he thinks he’s a dog.
She loves going for walks, but she’s not quite as enthusiastic about the weekend car rides through the neighborhood park with her big foster brother, Zeke. She’s also not sold on having the car windows halfway down just yet, but we’re pretty sure she’ll come around.
Renata Renee is curious, smart and quick to figure things out. She loves her chew bones and has a funny habit of piling every single one on the same bed, much to the annoyance of Zeke, who then has the pleasure of retrieving them all. Some things are just more fun when you make someone else do the work!
The good news keeps coming. Renata Renee has gained some much-needed weight, and her skin and coat are beginning to improve, too.
She will always carry the visible scars on her head, neck and body from her past as a breeding dog. We can’t change what happened to her, but we can make sure the rest of her story is filled with kindness, comfort and unconditional love. And we hope that, with time, the painful memories will fade and be replaced by a lifetime of happy ones.
Thank you to Dianne and everyone at Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for saving Renata Renee and giving her the opportunity to live the life she was always meant to have: a life where she’s cherished, protected and loved simply for being herself.
More to come as this sweet girl continues her foster journey!
