Snicker Doodle

Meet Snicker Doodle, fawn in color and age 9. Snicker has some vision problems due to severe dry eye.  Snicker Doodle and her sister (Smokey Jane) are extremely thin, but sweet as can be. Snicker Doodle was super excited to be in the rescue wagon headed for a better life and ready for some much needed vet care. No more living in the backyard in Texas for these 2 treasures.

10/21/21 Update:  Hey everyone.  I arrived in my new foster home last week and have been getting the lay of the land here. I have found all sorts of new toys and good places to nap. I love naps. OH!  And I get snacks.  I love snacks and naps.

There are other fur kids here and we get along just fine. As a matter of fact we sometimes nap together and snuggle.

I’ve got to admit this place ain’t bad, however I’ll be looking thru the applications to see if my forever home is out there.

I’ll update more later but right now I hear the food bin being opened…gotta go!

11/3/21 Update:  I’ve been in my foster home for two weeks now and I’ve made friends with all the other fur kids in the house.

Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue alumnus Levi is sweet on me, I think. He follows me around and likes to be close to me. When foster mom and dad are putting in my eye drops, he has to come over and supervise to make sure I am OK. We even nap together sometimes.

My main activities here are eating, going outside to do my business and sleeping. Mostly sleeping… I’m an older girl and my eye sight ain’t what it used to be, so I don’t move around much. When I am awake, I just supervise and keep an eye on things.

Foster Dad is taking me to the eye doctor this week to have a checkup.  Seems my eyes are red and puffy and that just will not do for this girl.

I’ll keep you updated on what the eye doc says, but right now it’s my nap time.

11/25/21 Update:  Snicker Doodle went to see the eye doctor and was such a good girl. Her eye infection has healed, but she is blind in her right eye and has limited vision in her left. That doesn’t stop her from getting around though! She maneuvers quite well around the house and outside. One of her favorite spots is outside laying in the sun. She’s a sweet girl who loves attention and treats.

12/3/21 Update:  Miss Doodles has found her favorite blanket and her spot to lay.  She is an amazing girl and has adjusted so well being here. She gets along with all the other dogs in the house, she goes outside to do her business and she has even started getting playful. It’s so cute to watch her tail wagging as she trots over to get her pettings and  hugs. She has come a long way in the past few weeks.

12/13/21 Update:  Miss Doodles is really starting to blossom.  Even though her eyesight is very limited, she navigates around the house and backyard like a champ.

She loves attention and to have her butt scratched. She comes trotting out when she hears the snack jar or food bin opening and knows right where to go for her food bowl.  She even goes and stands at the door to go potty. She is such a sweet girl and gets along well with the other dogs in the house.

2/5/22 Update:  Foster girl Snicker Doodle gives the cold, ice and snow only one and a half stars.

3/7/22 Update:    Snickers is enjoying the warm sunshine following her eye surgeries. She had to have her bad eye removed and some work done on the other one.  She also had to have a couple of bad teeth pulled, so as you can imagine, she’s feeling a little low.
