Booney

Booney

In honor of Booney, please give your own dogs some extra love tonight. Our time with them is never long enough.

From Booney’s furever pops: It’s been a bit and unfortunately this is sad news. Booney decided to walk the Rainbow Bridge this morning. These last couple of years, he’s mostly been sedentary, sleeping and snoring as Bulldogs do.

However, I was always filled with joy when he would sit next to me and rest that big ol’ Bulldog head on my lap and beg for olives, cheese and bread during our weekly movie night.

Just last night, he roused from his sleep as he smelled Tracy’s muffin and she gladly gave him his share. But he seemed too weak to get up and I feared his time was near for this 14-year-old friend.

This morning, he surprised me as he toured the house, something he hasn’t done in a LONG time, and gave things his Booney inspection. He barked at a box he hadn’t noticed before, then made his way to the patio and barked to the neighborhood. It was as if he was saying, “Goodbye, thanks for the memories.”

Shortly after, I brought him inside and he laid down on the floor, shuddered and passed.

Thank you for bringing Booney into our life. We will remember him fondly.
