Cinnamon Roll

Cinnamon Roll

5/24/25 update: Unfortunately, Cinnamon Roll died in her sleep in her foster home. You were loved, sweet girl.

INTRODUCTION:  At 7 years old, Cinnamon Roll thought her Christmas car ride may include a visit to Santa or maybe a magic window for some chicken nuggies.

We’re sure she never thought she would end at a local shelter. She had spent her entire life with the same family, so all she could do was wonder what was happening. Scared and confused, who could blame her? The shelter was a foreign place, full of unfamiliar sights and smells.

Cinnamon Roll walks slowly, but she gets where she needs to go. Her nails are long, her nose is filthy, and her ears are a mess. One eye is cloudy and dry, and she has a strong, unpleasant odor. You can’t look at her without feeling a deep sense of sadness. How could someone have a dog for 7 years and then just give up on her?

Every day, we hear from people asking for prayers for their aging Bulldogs, hoping they’ll make it through another Christmas. People spend thousands of dollars to give their Bulldogs battling cancer just a few more months of life. Bulldogs are stolen, with rewards reaching up to $10,000. And then, we learn of dogs like Cinnamon Roll. While her story is heartbreaking, we’re grateful we’re here to help because these dogs are family to us. They love us unconditionally, and they deserve to feel that love returned.

Welcome to rescue, Cinnamon Roll. You are absolutely in the right place for Christmas.

3/14/25 update: Cinnamon has become an avid gardener.  Cinnamon roll spent Sunday afternoon surveying what needed to be done as far as spring clean up and getting ready for flowers.

To know her is to love her. She is about as wide as she is tall and she has taught everyone in the house about “personal space.”  She has no problem making grown bulldogs cry if they try and get in her space.

Even though she is older and slower, and walks with a limp, she can certainly get where she needs to be. Her perfect family will be fur free, or willing to let her have her own space on as elevated bed.  She is super easy, requiring nothing but love.

4/2/25 update:  Cinnamon Roll is continuing to thrive in her foster home, where she eagerly assists with daily spring planting. For a family looking for a gardening companion, she’s the perfect addition! She’s truly perfection, all rolled up in fur.

Cinnamon Roll needs to be the only pet with fur living indoors, but she is a sweetheart through and through. While she walks slowly due to her vintage status, she still gets where she’s going just fine. She takes her joint supplements without hesitation and looks forward to her daily outdoor adventures, especially soaking up the sun.

If you’re looking for a loving, laid-back companion with a passion for the outdoors, Cinnamon Roll may be your perfect garden helper and friend!
