Please keep the Williamson family in your thoughts as they had to say goodbye to their sweet boy this past weekend. Diesel Douglas was a very gentle and loving companion who stole the hearts of his family. Diesel was a senior when he came into rescue, yet Michael and Dyanne opened their hearts and home to give Diesel Douglas the best last year he could have asked for. Hugs, sweet boy.
Yesterday was the best day I’ve had in a long time. I got to meet the one and only… Santa! I hear that if you’ve been nice and you tell him your wishes, miracles can happen. Maybe he will help me find my final forever home!
These nice people showed up yesterday to help me and my mom. I’ve lived with my mom for all 8 of my years and my mom loved all 80 (or so) pounds of me very much. A while back though, she fell ill and as much as she tried, she just couldn’t take care of me any longer. With tears in our eyes, we said goodbye and now I’m starting a new chapter.
I hear I’m headed to see a nice Dr. Larsen and she will help me get in the best shape possible. I’m like a gentle giant… friendly to all things with fur! Although I *really* like the ladies, if you know what I mean!
Another amazing thing yesterday was I had a bath. To some, that may not seem like that big of a deal, but for me it had been a while, so it felt awesome and I enjoy them!
12/18/19 Update: Diesel Douglas is in the House! You can’t miss me, I’m 80lbs. of LOVE!
My story is a good one, up until the last few months. I lived with my sweet Mom all my life. Recently, we found out she is ill, and she wouldn’t be able to care for me anymore. We were both very sad and cried a lot. Since we loved each other so much, we knew we had to do what was best for each other. She needed to take care of herself and I needed someone to take care of me. Mom called Rescue so I would have a family to care for me. That’s what Mom’s do, they take care of their babies, even if they can’t do it themselves. Leaving each other was the hardest thing either of us have ever done! We’re both being taken care of now and that’s all that matters.
Now it’s time to talk about me. I’m 8-yrs. old and yes, I am 80 lbs. Since I always lived with my Mom, I know how to walk on a leash and potty outside. I’m not a young fellow, but I’m not an old fellow either. As Lionel Richie says, “I’M EASY LIKE SUNDAY MORNING”. I’m not going to run any races, but I like sitting a lot, sleeping and eating (as you might have noticed). I am a great companion and will be your best friend.
I am attaching some photos of myself, so you can see how handsome I am. Mom took very good care of me, so I’m in great shape. I liked all the attention at the photo shoot. I DID NOT LIKE THE ELF HAT! A big, masculine guy like me, should never wear an ELF HAT! They said I looked really cute. I’ll just have to take their word for it.
I only have 2 things on my Santa Paws list. I want a family for the second part of my life, that was as wonderful as the one I had for the first part of my life. The most important thing on my list is to make my past Mom feel better and get well. If he can do those 2 things, I will never ask for anything again! Merry Christmas Ya’ll, Diesel Douglas
12/24/19 Update: I have so much to be happy about! I met Santa a few weeks back and I wished for a home and I got one in the nick of time. Christmas miracles do happen! It may not be my forever home, but a home none the less. I think I’m going to like Mays’ Manor. This foster home has some nice-looking ladies and I love me some ladies! Thanks to all of the supporters of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, I’m going to have the best Christmas.
1/8/20 Update: What a gorgeous day to be outside. In fact, almost as gorgeous as me! I’ve been at Mays’ Manor a couple of weeks and life is good. It’s been a while since I’ve been in this good of shape. Just picture it, me frolicking through the house or yard chasing these beautiful girls around! I don’t attempt to get loving any more because these ladies will let you have it if you do, but I still enjoy the chase. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge…
2/2/20 Update: I enjoyed my visit to Puckett’s Nursery for my Valentine’s Day pictures. I am a super chill and loveable fella. I like lounging with my human. Something I don’t like is gates! Foster Mom keeps parts of the house off limits and I can use all of my 80 pounds to push my way through any gate or just unlock them. It’s a special power!
3/30/20 Update: Diesel Douglas enjoyed bath time last night … but not as much as the mud treatment this morning! 😂 Diesel is one chill dude! Unless foster sister Roxy Nicole walks by… He will run after her for the chance that she will return the love!
