Dixie

I want to let you all know that our beloved Dixie passed away unexpectedly last week. Although her loss came as a shock, we take comfort in the fact that she died peacefully in her sleep, curled up next to her fur brother, Ranger. Our family is so grateful for the 3 years that we had with Dixie, and to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for allowing us to adopt her. Dixie brought boundless joy and love to our lives. She is deeply missed.  (1/3/2020)

Dixie went to her furever home today, just in time for Christmas. Dixie will have a boy fur sibling and two skin brothers. Dixie will be the princess in this household. Dixie jumped and danced when she saw her family. Dixie met her new mom at an event at Hollywood Feed in McKinney. Bittersweet moment letting this sweet precious girl go, but she will know nothing but love and happiness in her home.

Welcome Dixie–one of the Fortunate Five to Rescue! Dixie is house broken, uses the doggy door and simply loves everyone. She has been around cats and small dogs all her life. She loves the couch. Check back for more updates on this sweet girl. Dixie has ear mites, ear infection, and fleas. She needs spayed, and a mass removed. Check back for regular updates on this sweet girl.

11/6/16 Update:  Dixie had a great week settling into her foster home and recovering from her spay. Dixie, on the left, gets along well with all of the fur in the house. Dixie has discovered soft beds and rugs to lay on and she likes it. She is especially fond of being brushed on her neck and chest. Dixie is so perfect in every way. She is a small girl, but has a huge wiggle when she greets her humans. This little girl wants nothing but love and has plenty to give.

11/13/16 Update:  Sweet Dixie is about the best girl ever.  Dixie is very laid back and likes her life of hugs, rubs and treats too.  Dixie is a wonderful companion who asks for nothing but love.  Dixie is working on overcoming her fears of that big world out there.  Once Dixie trusts, she will never leave your side.  Dixie’s whole body wiggles with joy when she sees her humans.  Dixie is not a very active girl but she does like a short walk with her human.  Napping is a favorite activity and her snores let you know she is quite content.
