Dumpling

Dumpling

Dumpling was picked up at the Garland Shelter by Daddy Don. She was adopted out to a family in Midland Texas. That’s when we met Dumpling, It wasn’t working out and Daddy Don called us and asked us to go see what was going wrong. Dumpling was feisty and to many could be considered a little aggressive. We fostered her in our home until another permanent home could be found. She again was adopted out, but yet again a short while later was returned, slightly more aggressive than before. We again took her in, she loved her bulldog brothers and sisters here and began to thrive. It was then we decided she would never want for a forever home again. That this was her forever home. A place that would never turn her away, and love her despite her imperfections. Then came Autumn Grace our daughter, although initially we were a little concerned about Dumpling and a toddler. We thought we would give them a chance and keep them both safe. Dumplings true self came out the first time she met Autumn, it was love at first sight. Autumn was Dumplings human and Dumpling was Autumn’s protector. They were inseparable after that. Autumn potty training, Dumpling sat right there beside her. Autumn in time out, Dumpling sat right there beside her. Autumn in back yard, Dumpling right there beside her. Autumn riding her bike, scooter or car, Dumpling again right there beside her. Dumpling was Autumns friend, dress up companion, but most importantly as Dumpling thought her PROTECTOR. She would stand in between Autumn and any Adult that was not family and would not move until she was dismissed by my husband or myself. She was not trained to do that. She just did it instinctively I guess. I have numerous memories and pictures of Dumpling standing guard over her own little girl.(I honestly think Dumpling thought Autumn was hers.) Dumpling was HAPPY here, and loved! SHE WILL BE MISSED. We had her in our home and she blessed us with her profound Love for our little girl. Dumpling crossed over rainbow bridge Friday, after falling ill Wednesday night. They discovered a tumor on her spleen. She was in surgery and we knew she was weak, but we had to try. Today Dumpling is at Peace and Autumn is heartbroken six year old. But once again Dumpling did a beautiful job helping us raise Autumn and she is looking to Dumpling’s bully brothers Goliath and Dozer for support. But Autumn is not so sure if they will look as good dressed up. Dumpling , We miss you. Love you and will never forget you. You will forever be OUR Feisty, yet loving ole girl. Who went from a lump of coal to a precious diamond, forever to be treasured.
