Fiona Fig

Fiona Fig

Rescue lost a sweet, sweet little lady this past weekend. Fiona Fig crossed the Rainbow Bridge, taking her foster family’s hearts with her.

Fiona Fig was a little senior lady that was never a problem to anyone. She loved life and life loved her. Fiona Fig had a 5/6 heart murmur when she joined rescue and she passed peacefully on the sofa.

Her foster pops described Fiona Fig as a “damn good girl.” Please send the foster family your hugs. Whatever time we have with these Bulldogs is never enough.

Yesterday was a big big day for me… I joined rescue! You read that right. I packed my backpack, folded up my crate, bought myself a new bag of food and I hit the road.

There had been some changes at my house and I wasn’t sure what was going on. My mom went away for a few days and when she came home, she was not alone! She brought home a baby. A real baby with skin and she has a mouth that can cry and cry and cry. I must have sensitive ears because a little crying goes a long way! I am glad my crate door stayed open because that is where you would find me.

My mom was super sad when I decided I needed to go. But she also knew how much time I needed when I was a baby seven years ago. I’m not saying my mom is overwhelmed with a new baby, but I am.  I want time, attention and a lot of belly rubs.

So, I’m starting the next chapter of my life. I love other dogs, but I’ve never met a cat. I enjoy a spa day often, with a blow dry and comb out. The groomer has to cut my nails because I am not a fan. Remember: don’t get water in my ears because I’ll get an earache.

I get anxious riding in a car and I must eat twice a day ~ two cups in the morning and two cups at night. Believe me, I know when the cup is not all the way full and I will bark to let you know.

All and all, I am a fabulous senior lady who’s  looking for a fabulous family who appreciates the finer things in life, like me.

3/19/24 Update:  Fiona is settling into her foster home. She is a perfect houseguest with zero accidents, good dinner manners, and is a super helper for foster dad! She loves attention, hanging with her foster siblings and meeting cats. She’s a gem!

5/30/24 Update:  This girl is 43 pounds of perfection (other than not wanting to snuggle with her foster mom). Fiona is a daddy’s girl and loves to snuggle on the couch with her foster dad. She is potty trained, crate trained, loves to eat, and hang out with you. She doesn’t like to leave the house much or be left outside (other than to do her business). She’s truly a gem!

6/7/24 Update:  Here’s Fiona Fig doing what she does best: sitting with her foster dad. She also has a new job of venturing out of her crate and holding the couch down at night! She’s crate trained, potty trained, makes a great alarm clock for dinner time, gets along with everyone and is just an all-around love bug. Any family would be lucky to have her.
