Gigi

It is with a very heavy heart I am writing you this email. Gigi passed away in her sleep last night. The vet has told us she experienced GDV or Gastric Dilation Volvulus in her sleep. To say Gigi was a sweet dog wouldn’t do her justice, she had experienced such abuse as a puppy mill mama and despite this, she was the sweetest, most gracious dog. I am devastated that she won’t have more time with us, and it breaks my heart she couldn’t be with us long enough to have more years in our home than she did in her previous life. I had big plans for her one year with us, she was going to dress up as a princess (her true self) and have a big cake to celebrate. I wanted to send you and the whole organization a big thank you for saving dogs like her. Even though it was brief, Gigi deserved every second of the 10 months she lived with us and I am honored I got to be part of her life.

Gigi of the Fortunate Five has been adopted! From her foster momma: Sweet girl Gigi has found her perfect family and been adopted. This sweet girl was such an easy girl to foster and love and we will miss her, but she is now part of great family where she will want for nothing. She now has a wonderful mom, dad and fur brother to call her own this Thanksgiving and I am certain she is thankful for that. I know they are definitely going to be thankful for her. Her new mom reports that she and brother Hampton are getting along great and adjusting to each other and that she is settling in. Happy tails, sweet beautiful girl!
