Herc

Herc

We laid our precious Hercules (“Herc”) to rest Monday, May 21st. I think that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My husband and I were with him through the very end. After several visits to the vet trying to get a diagnosis and treatment plan going, a Vet Specialist finally confirmed that Herc had cancer in his pancreas. Our options were limited and none of them had a good outcome. Herc’s health quickly declined. We rescued Herc from Lone Star Bulldog Rescue on September 22, 2007. He wasn’t quite 2 years old yet. Over the last four and a half years, Herc could be quite the challenge but we simply made some minor adjustments in our lives so we could continue to love and care for him. Oh, but what Herc gave us in return for small sacrifices…He taught us more about unconditional love and patience than anybody or anything could have. Most of all, he taught us that we ALL deserve second (and sometimes, third) chances. I can’t thank Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue enough for giving us the opportunity to adopt. Over the last few years, my husband and I have had the honor to meet some pretty amazing people and some pretty amazing dogs through Rescue. These dogs give so much in return for so little, as do the volunteers. I know God gave me Herc for a reason and I’m truly thankful to have had him in my life. God is good and all dogs go to heaven. We miss our boy so much, but we know we’ll see him again. Thanks again LSBCR, Greg and Krystal
