Hercules Hayden

Hercules Hayden

Hercules Hayden has struggled with his health for some time and has been getting weaker and weaker. His poor tired body finally gave in to his illness and his struggle is ended. We wish comfort for his wonderful foster family. Run free sweet boy!

Bulldog friends it’s me Hercules Hayden and I have joined rescue.

I have always been known as a “Lady’s Man!” That’s right, I am such a flirt. When I saw a lady, all I wanted to do was dance around her, nibble on her ears, and hope she would love me back.  99.9% of the time it was love at first sight. For me anyway.

Some loved my advances. Other not so much. Well on Wednesday I woke up and decided those days of loving the ladies were over for me because I am older now and learning to play Pickleball seemed more my speed.

Soon I will be visiting with Dr. Larsen and she will help with that loving feeling. My skin needs some attention as do my eyes, but other than that I am one sweet little fella that will be looking for a fabulous family that needs a handsome fella to fetch a Pickleball on the weekends.

6/13/23 Update:  Hercules Hayden loves being outside when weather permits. He especially enjoys his own pool, and will hop in before the water hits the ground.

He is enjoying his medicated baths and a mist from the hose. He is a sweet boy that gets along well with all sizes of dogs and plays very gently.

Hercules is like a shadow and loves to be near his foster dad. Everyday, we see something new with Herc. He’s now playing with toys and becoming more active and social.

Herc has passed the test of being home alone and would prefer to be out of his crate at all costs and does very well.

Herc would love to be your home movie date and enjoy a little snack, if you dare to share.

6/30/23 Update:  Check out this cutie looking for his forever family!

Hercules is soft-spoken. We haven’t heard a peep out of him since he arrived in our home. He lets his foster sisters make all the noise.

Hercules listens well, shares well and is great on a leash. He looks forward to a short walk, car ride or just being lazy watching you work in the yard. He loves being outside when temperatures allow.

He gets along well with other dogs and does a cute little happy dance at mealtime.

7-11-23 Update:  Hercules can be a little bulldozer at times when he gets excited, although he’d prefer not to do any stairs. He would do very well in a home with a small fur buddy to play and cuddle with.

Hercules can be your shadow ~ and we have still not heard a bark or peep from him, but he can snore! He is a little skittish at times and not very fond of the vacuum or a mop.

Everyday, he brings a smile to our faces as he does something new or just something silly. Hercules is a very sweet well-behaved fella.

7/25/23 Update:  Hercules met a black dog today and He chose to just ignore her. He enjoys car rides and lately his new pool towel. We finally heard noise from Hercules besides his snoring when he decided to sing along with the rest of the choir.

Everyday Hercules shows us something new as he blossoms. He is still a tad skittish when he hears the vacuum or sees a mop. Loud noises do startle him. He is becoming a protector as he has also started to try a little bark when he hears the ring camera ding.

Hercules is looking for a family to love unconditionally. He would love to have a smaller buddy to cuddle and enjoy a good wrestling match.

8/11/23 Update:  Hercules Hayden weighs in at the perfect 46 lbs. He is lovable, smart, obedient and considerate. What more can you ask for?

Herc shares well with others. He has learned that his crate is his safe place when we leave the house. He sleeps with his foster sisters at the foot  of the bed or on the bench, and he uses a doggie door. He loves all people and does well with all dogs that accept him.

He loves to wrestle with his foster sisters. They are half his weight and smaller, but he’s truly a gentle boy and knows how to treat the ladies.

Playtime is so much fun to watch. His confidence has grown and he’s more comfortable and happy compared to when he first arrived.

Hercules loves everything: spa time shampooing, brushing, teeth brushing, face washing and eye drops. He’s very well behaved during a manicure  and he would love to hop in the shower daily if you let him. Hercules’ preference is the good old fashioned towel dry over a blow dryer.

9/6/23 Update:  Hercules Hayden is a sweet, mellow boy ~ a perfect, gentle soul and as cute as can be.

Hercules has a few daily requirements, but nothing out of the ordinary. He is in need of unconditional love and lots of cuddles! He takes his eye drops two times a day, a probiotic along with an oil snip capsule to keep him healthy and looking handsome.

His coat is filling in nicely as he continues his medicated baths a few times a week, which he absolutely loves. We are seeing a great improvement with a softer coat and his bald spots are disappearing.

This past week, he decided his crate isn’t that bad after all. When we leave for work, he knows it’s time to go in to his “special pad.” There he’ll wait for a  treat and a goodbye cuddle. He even finds it a good place to get away from his foster sisters and hang out with a toy or play hide and seek.
