8/1/26 FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS ~ Today our hearts are heavy.
This morning, when sweet Mable Freedom didn’t eat, Dianne knew something wasn’t right and immediately started the drive to the veterinarian. Tragically, Mable Freedom passed away on the way there.
Our hearts are broken by the loss of this beautiful girl. Mable Freedom was simply too young to leave this world, and we are deeply saddened that her journey ended far sooner than it should have.
Please also keep our volunteer, Dianne, in your thoughts. Our volunteers open not only their homes but also their hearts, and losing a dog is one of the hardest parts of rescue. Thank you, Dianne, for loving Mable Freedom, advocating for her and making sure she was surrounded by kindness and compassion until the very end.
Run free, sweet Mable Freedom. You were loved and you will be missed more than words can express.

7/4/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Mable Freedom to our rescue family.
While many of us were enjoying a day off with family, friends and Fourth of July celebrations, Mable Freedom was celebrating a different kind of independence.
This morning, she climbed into a rescue van and left the shelter behind after being picked up as a stray. She didn’t make the journey alone. Her shelter roommate, Mildred July Fourth, came along too.
The two girls seem to have a lot in common. Both look like they’ve had puppies. Both are battling skin infections. And both carried the unmistakable smell of filth and neglect. Picked up together on the same Fort Worth street, perhaps they were once in the same home.
Estimated to be just 3 years old, Mable Freedom is as sweet as can be and simply happy to receive a little love and attention.
Welcome to freedom, Mable Freedom. Your life starts over today.
A heartfelt thank you to Rebecca for spending part of her Fourth of July morning at the Fort Worth shelter and making sure these two deserving Bulldogs got the fresh start they so desperately needed.
This Fourth of July, Mable Freedom found her freedom, but there are more Bulldogs still waiting for theirs. Every rescue begins with an available foster home, and right now we urgently need foster families throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area to keep up with the number of dogs who need us.
Because our Bulldogs receive care from our partner veterinarians and attend local adoption events, foster volunteers must live in the DFW area. (The good news is that we adopt to approved families across the country!)
If you’ve ever thought about fostering, LET”S DO THIS! We provide the veterinary care and support. You simply provide a safe place for a Bulldog to heal while waiting for their next family. Every open foster home gives another Bulldog the chance to experience the freedom Mable Freedom found today. Reach out to us today!
